Not real impressed by it, much carbonation with a citrus and orange flavor.....didnt drink much of it, but might try it again the next time I go......which may be tomorrow. pretty much what you would expect from a wedding, but with out the stomach turning one might get from the standard Bud Light. It could be worse....

Funky yeast aroma. Lots of wheat, blood orange, honeyish. Great spicy finish, the bitterness seems higher than the IBU would indicate. Yellow bodied. It grows on me as regards drinkability. A rare bottle, so thanks for sharing Johnsense.

Amber pour, a figer of head. malty aroma with blood orange, spices. Corriander, honey, blood orange, malty, caremel taste - very complex. Peppery, warming spices. medium bodied. Fairly easy drinking. Good lacing and not a hint of alcohol. Spicy aftertaste. Quite good.

Bottle, caged and corked, delivered by a buddy from the brewery. Opens with a nice pop, and pours with a great pillowy cushion of white foam. Clear and still, golden with an orange tinge. The aroma is subtle, with a hint of orange zest. The beer drinks with a delightful palate, and is laden with a mellow but flavorful flourish ... lightly laced with herbal spice, yeast and garden flowers. (#4514, 3/4/2012)

From notes. First reviewed 7/6/2010. On tap at the Eccentric Cafe in a pint glass. The color is a hazy dark golden orange with a 2 cm white head. Reasonable retention, mostly just a ring of carbonation. Nice, replenishing carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass. Spicy, honey wheat in the nose. Nice smooth floral and citrus hoppiness. Soft, but complex aroma. Strong and spicy wheat taste, with some full honey and malty sweetness. Spicy yeast really gives the middle some excitement. Floral and citrus hops finish the flavor out. Very pleasant and rounded. The mouthfeel is slightly crisp and a little bit dry. Tight, medium carbonation and a little bit oily at the end. The yeast contributes a little bit of grainy feel as well. This is much better than most pale wheats I drink. The flavor rises above the normal bounds of the style, and I enjoy the extra complexity. Even at 7.5%, the alcohol is not noticeable, and this is a great summer ale.

Pour is a slight golden color with a small off white head. Nose is of citrus and some hoppy notes as well with a bit of barnyard in there in a sense. Taste is minimal hop flavor with some light fruit notes as well as some wheaty characters.

Batch K10284, bottle #362/465. 750 mL bottle from the brewery, served in a Trappist glass. Pours clear orange-golden with a small amount of fine sediment that remains suspended. The head is small, off-white and fades quickly to a thin remnant. On the nose, there are notes of grass, citrus, coriander, honey, caramel, flowers and a touch of herbs. The flavour is moderately sweet up front, with notes of honey and coriander. Through the middle, a dryish wheat component starts to come through. The finish is moderate in length and dry with coriander and orange peel notes. Overall, this is a decent wheat ale, but nothing special. The malts are quite simple and there is a slightly harsh quality to the finish. 2011-12-07

On tap at Sam’s, Durham, after the Bells takeover event. Had this just after the Sweet Potato stout and it was a nice changeup. Poured a hazy light orange with a decent froth, but there was something about the almost opaque, sorta sedimental look that suggested some kind of traditional ale. The nose with honey buttressed that impression initially, but then sharp hops and ripeness came on strong. Mouthfeel was just medium and could have used a pick-me-up. Taste was quite satisfying, bitter and sweet in a balanced fashion, kind of like Imperial Oberon.

Tap at Capone’s. Hazy golden pour with a larger sized white head. Grains with citrus. Some bread with spices. Lighter honey, but that’s fine with me. Nothing really stood out.

Draught at Capone’s: Aroma of malt, fruit, dry, dry-wall, yeast, grain, and a hint of honey. Poured yellow/gold in color with a small, loose, creamy, white head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of small particles throughout. Good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly spicy. Tastes of malt, honey, light hops, grains, slight fruit, slight dust, and slight citrus. Light to medium body. Thinish, dry texture. Average carbonation. Lightly sweet, grain, honey, dust finish is dry. 7%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2011 On tap at Sam’s. Cheers to BBQ. Pours hazy golden with white head. Nose is bready and sweet. Mild sweet orange peel. Not really like a wheat ale or a wit, exactly. Is it the name that makes me think of wedding cake? Interesting and refreshing. Fairly subtle, but I really like this beer.
