brewblackhole (1367), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Jun 7, 2007 Grainey wheat, plenty of banana ester, and caramel in aroma, cloudy particle laden appearance, no head, odd for a wheat beer, big toasted wheat creamy caramelly almost syrupy, sweet, a banana liquer aftertaste, lots of body, a wonderfully made wheat brew Nephilium (541), Ohio, USA May 30, 2007 Another recovery from the wilds of Michigan. This pours a slightly hazy (albeit with quite a bit of particles visible) orange, with a thin, quickly fading white head. The aroma is of wheat, a bit of sweetness, and a touch of citrus. The taste is an interesting one, the beginning and finish are of a wheat beer, with a barleywine like middle, there’s also an overlying banana flavor that blends in well. It has a nice long finish. Another fantastic beer from Larry Bell. locarboy (115), USA May 29, 2007 nice pour. smells like a belgian, looks like a belgian, tastes like a belgian...but it isn’t. despite the corny label i bought this one (kinda reminded me of someone’s 60’s panel basement). give credit where credit is due. not many are brewing experimentally with this kind of focus. so not everyone will appreciate when someone pushes the style envelope. bell is no hedgehog. GG (1612), NorCal, California, USA May 22, 2007 Did I find a beer from Bells that I didn’t really like? Okay, so I didn’t care for the Double Cream Stout. It was good, but...eh. This was just...well. Aroma was something like honey coated bubblegum. Appearance was orangish/yellow, nice whte head with some serious floaties going on. Mouthfeel was light, watery. Flavor was banana, bubblegum, wheatgrass with a subtle citrusy-floralness that was just odd. I just didn’t enjoy it very much. Reminded me somehow of an Imperial American Wheat Ale. Yeah, didn’t make much sense to me either. jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA May 19, 2007 Amber coloured body with a thin tan head. Aroma of fresh malt and hops along with sweet pit fruits and a bit of cherries. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong alcoholic flavours emerge and a bunch of nice sweetness fills the palate. Aftertaste is fairly nice, a bit strong - but easy to placate. Overall, a good beer, not absolutely amazing, but a good and very strong ale. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 19-May-2007 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. SJP (483), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA May 8, 2007 Pours a delicious cloudy orange color with a thin but lasting white head. Smells of citrus and yeasts and hints f alcohol and sugar. tastes sweet like a Belgian ale, with notes of vanilla, orange and syrupy sweetness. Alcohol is noticeable only in the finish, and alternates with a sugary/honey-ish aftertaste. Another fine Bells beer. mgumby10 (1844), Jupiter, Florida, USA Apr 29, 2007 Pours a cloudy orange color with just a slight light fizzy white head. Very malty aromas, some caramel, and had a strong orange citrus smell resinating off of it. Taste has a lot of the orange in it also, very rich tasting. Has almost a Belgina taste to it. Its pretty sweet, i get some of that candy sugar in it. Big malt characters as well with some vanilla in the finish. Pretty smooth for 8%, finishes clean. Pretty good. A lighter barley wine, but pleasant. elektronikfagteknikerlærling (892), kbh, Denmark Apr 26, 2007 bottle. very murky pale yellow color. small head. wheat aroma. sweet wheat taste. very fresh. ok beer.
