Commercial Description:
This beer is the first in Bell’s Wheat Project. Project comprises five new ales, four in series and one specialty strong product. The first four, Wheat 2, Wheat 4, Wheat 6 and Wheat eight are all made using 55% Wheat (either wholly or mostly malted) and 45% Barley malt. The barley malt makeup is exactly the same in each of the four and consists of three different malts. The total amount of grain in each of the four is also exactly the same, so each of them should have a virtually identical original gravity. The type and amount of hops in each of the four is exactly the same. And the processing through the brewhouse and fermentation is also exactly the same. The changing factors between the ales are the composition of the 55% of wheat used and the type and number of yeast strains used. In Wheat 2 the 55% of wheat is made up of two different kinds of wheat malt, and this ale is made with two different yeasts. Wheat Two Wheats: White, Dark Yeast: Bell’s house ale strain, WLP410 Belgian Wit II

via trade with OhioDad - Pours a hazy golden color with no real head to speak off. Has a spicey Belgium yeast aroma. Flavor is spicey with a little sweetness to go along with it. Medium body. I wouldn’t consider this an American wheat. More like a dark Wit. No biggie. Still tastes pretty good. Thanks Scott.

Bottle. Banana, clove, leather, juicy fruit gum, good hit of spicy yeast, good prickly carbonation, and lotion. Tastes like a mild hefe and wit. Probably the best of the series.

Light tangy and yeast nose, pleasant. Clear golden color - not sure where everyone else is getting the haze from. Thin whit head that dissappears quickly. Fizzy and light on the tongue. Honey, and sourdough. Refreshing cold. A little weak as it warms.

12 oz bottle: poured clear light orange with a very thin head. Pouring the remaining beer into my glass turns this clear beer into a cloudy sediment-laden one. Moderate malt aroma and some yeast. A little fruit. Flavor is fairly yeasty with some fruit. No noticeable banana to me but some citrus. A bit earthy. Probably the best of this series for me.

Bottle, thanks to MarkR. Golden, hazy color, not too much banana flavor to this one, more of a sour earth flavor, yeasty. Nice brew overall, more of a wit to me, good beer.
