Commercial Description:
This beer is the first in Bell’s Wheat Project. Project comprises five new ales, four in series and one specialty strong product. The first four, Wheat 2, Wheat 4, Wheat 6 and Wheat eight are all made using 55% Wheat (either wholly or mostly malted) and 45% Barley malt. The barley malt makeup is exactly the same in each of the four and consists of three different malts. The total amount of grain in each of the four is also exactly the same, so each of them should have a virtually identical original gravity. The type and amount of hops in each of the four is exactly the same. And the processing through the brewhouse and fermentation is also exactly the same. The changing factors between the ales are the composition of the 55% of wheat used and the type and number of yeast strains used. In Wheat 2 the 55% of wheat is made up of two different kinds of wheat malt, and this ale is made with two different yeasts. Wheat Two Wheats: White, Dark Yeast: Bell’s house ale strain, WLP410 Belgian Wit II

Yeast was roused before opening. A hard pour produces a small white head, creamy in appearence with a fair staying power, lace is somewhat stringy and scattered. Gold colored brew with a thick yeast haze. Nose is malty and lightly spicey, faint bananna aromas. Body is light, spritzy. Earthy malts are dry, light fruity notes with some surprising phenolic flavors all around. Fruity, malty, quick finish.

Aroma is of smooth wheat malt, light citrus, and bit of banana. It is a hazy dark yellow / medium gold with more sediment than expected. A creamy white head starts off and goes down, but a nice amount remains resting on top of the beer. Taste is very rich and full in the mouth, some of the heaviest amounts of wheat flavor I’ve had in a wheat while still incredibly easy to drink. The further down the glass the creamier it tasts. An excellent representation of the style and the easiest drinking of the Bell’s wheat project.

Smells like beer. Like budweiser. Extra pale, a bit of chill haze. Some fruitiness in the aroma. Flavor has bananas, clove, ginger. Sweet, full bodied. Nasty aftertaste that never leaves. Wheat beer sucks, this beer sucks. The emperor has no clothes.

12 oz bottle (7083). Bright white into gold hue with white head. Clear. Pear and citrus nose. Grainy and sweet. Bubblegum and bananas. Sweet yet dry. Lively and tangy. Tastes just like it smells, only add the bitter hop character.

Clean, crisp, refreshing wheat with bright orange peel spicing and hints of banana, clove, and lemon. Creamy texture and satisfying mouthfeel. All in all, a very nicely done wheat.
