Commercial Description:
This beer is the first in Bell’s Wheat Project. Project comprises five new ales, four in series and one specialty strong product. The first four, Wheat 2, Wheat 4, Wheat 6 and Wheat eight are all made using 55% Wheat (either wholly or mostly malted) and 45% Barley malt. The barley malt makeup is exactly the same in each of the four and consists of three different malts. The total amount of grain in each of the four is also exactly the same, so each of them should have a virtually identical original gravity. The type and amount of hops in each of the four is exactly the same. And the processing through the brewhouse and fermentation is also exactly the same. The changing factors between the ales are the composition of the 55% of wheat used and the type and number of yeast strains used. In Wheat 2 the 55% of wheat is made up of two different kinds of wheat malt, and this ale is made with two different yeasts. Wheat Two Wheats: White, Dark Yeast: Bell’s house ale strain, WLP410 Belgian Wit II

Nice. Little different than traditional wheat. Good for everyday drinking - put it next to Two Hearted or Amber for your everyday beers.

Wheaty, lightly phenolic aroma, touch of lemon. Medium-full bodied, wheaty, with some love as well as some more wit-ish notes. Sweetish wheaty finish. Stalish background notes, but I don’t think they’re age-related. Some perfumey hop notes. Okay, but not anything amazing.

12oz - Aroma is wheat, bubblegum, and Belgian yeast. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a small white head and great lacing. Flavor is malty with the wheat and yeast coming in close second. Palate is smooth and clean. Maybe too clean, I could drink a lot of this.

Well made wit. Color is a hazy bronze, with a moderate white head. Aroma is full of yeast, bananas and bread. Flavor is a tangy sweet. Hops dryness starts to show itself a bit on the finish.

I wish I would have picked up the entire series of Wheat beers from Bell’s. This one restored my confidence in them being well made experiments after the disappointment of the Wheat Eight.

Aroma / Appearance - Wheat, bananas, limes, pears, lemons and a few other fruity scents form a pleasing nose. The body was cloudy and slightly yeasty with a half-finger head lingering on top. I blame the chunks on a bad pour; they aren’t a fault of the beer itself as much as me not expecting them.

Flavor / Palate - The first thing I thought of were orange creamsicles. The creamy filling mouthfeel also had hints of lemons, peaches, butterscotch, wheat bread slathered in nutella and some traces of butteriness. Overall it was extremely rich, lasting for several minutes before it began to fade. There was a nice balance to the entire bottle. If you can still track this down, give it a try.

Thanks to Sprinkle for this one.Pours a golden orange but what a nice refreshing nose, gee I am used to but IPA’s and Impys so this is nice. Kinda like corn and yeast, lots of barn smells. Tastes like dough and some grain. Not bad and a good brew to have around as a few of them will not kick your ass.

Bottle from trade with OhioDad! Batch 7083. Poured a darker golden color with a nice white head. A very sweet aroma with spices, fruit, and wheat. The flavor found a great mix of spices, banana, wheat, and lemon. Medium body that had lively carbonation. Thanks Scott!
