COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our annual imperial saison, the 2013 Blitzen was brewed with plum and lemon. The beer has a floral aroma, subtle notes of plum flesh, and a refined tartness on the palate.

Bottle from the brewery.
Pours a cloudy orange with a huge fluffy white head. Smells strongly of lemon, grass, cookie dough and candy. Candy sweetness, lots of lemon, plum skin and general juiciness. Some tartness in the finish. Pretty tasty and dangerously drinkable. 2014-04-05

500mL bottle, pours an opaque dirty orangey brown with a large beige head. Aroma brings out lots of lemon, citrus peel, and Belgian yeast. Flavour brings out loads of citrus peel, lemon, lots of Belgian yeast and coriander-like spices. Very lemony and spicy. Decent stuff.

January 27, 2014. 500mL bottle from Bellwoods bottleshop. Lemon on the nose. Hint of plums. Head didn’t last. Cloudy dark amber. Lemon and plum skin flavours. Quite tart at first, but becomes quite pleasant over time.

Bottle, from Sammy, shared with Parksy. Hazy yellow body witha bubbly white crown. Around is yeasty, with tart plum skins. Tart, lightly funky palate with lemon peel and hints of juicy plum. The finish dries out completely. Nice.

On tap at the brewery. Pours hazy with golden colour. The aroma just screams herbal leafy notes with some lemon pie yeasty notes. On the palate the alcohol is well hidden as the beer drinks well but there is too much tartness and lemon notes on this one for me to enjoy more than a bit of this.

Pale golden-straw pour. The nose is quite bright and tart. A bit of pear and spice aroma. Some nice tartness and a bit of lemon oil character in the palate. Quite perfumey with musky notes as well as some peppery alcohol on the back. as it warms it takes on a bit of slickness I could do without. Lots of fruit on the finish but something about it doesn’t quite work for me.

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy orange, small white head. Nose is apple, plum, pepper, saison spice. Flavour is dark fruit, quite sour. Love the plum.
