Juteux, résineux, soyeux avec des agrumes sucrées enrobées de sirop de mangue. Juste à cheval entre la buvabilité extrême et la dégustation langoureuse.

Draft - Grapefruit and tropical notes. Cloudy gold with a rich white head. Tropical fruit, candy sweet grapefruit and a bit of boozy sweetness. A bright IIPA, with little caramel.

Really nice aroma of tropical fruits with a hint of barnyard. Quite sweet tasting with some bitterness and blueberry. Nice beer. Medium bodied. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from the brewery. Pale clear amber with a one finger white head that fades slowly and leaves a bit of lace. Nose has lots of tropical fruit, pine and resin. Lightly sweet fruity start quickly surpassed by grapefruit and pine bitterness in the middle and a definite catty character in the finish. Mouth is medium full and sticky with average carbonation. I will have to compare side by side with Witchshark to figure out which I prefer.

500mL bottle purchased from brewery 17 July. Pours a beautiful clear golden colour, much lighter than I was expecting given its Imperial designation. Big nose of pineapple, pine, and orange with sublte floral notes. A very drinkable medium bodied IPA that is remarkably well-balanced for the style, with pine resin and fresh tropical citrus flavours in near-perfect harmony. An incredible result from an always reliable brewery!

Rating #1100. 500 mL bottle from the brewery, served in a stem glass. Pours clear golden with a small white head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has big mango and grapefruit notes, along with pale malts, pineapple, light resin and a subtle cattiness. The flavour is moderately bitter up front with a delicate citric, slightly tropical hoppy character on a mild bready malt background. Bitterness picks up through the middle with perhaps citrus peel. It closes out with a long, intensely bitter finish but leaves much of the fruit behind. On the palate it is light-medium in body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, a nice delicate imperial IPA with an elegant blend of Simcoe and Centennial. Good subtlety but the finish is too one-dimensionally bitter--I would have liked to see some of the fruity notes carry through. 2014-07-18

Bottle from brewery. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is lovely - big, sweet hoppyness with lemon, light caramel, pine, light mustiness... Medium body, medium carbonation. Light caramel, lemon, booze, juicy tangerine, grapefruit, grass, pine... Finish is a little metallic, which is a shame. Its good though.

Golden orange in colour with a thin but long lasting white head, excellent lacing. The aroma is of pine and tropical fruits, some oranges. The flavour is quite fruity, citrus and pine, some sweetness. Chewy mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, warming, good hop bitterness. They did a very good job hiding the alcohol, drinks like an IPA.

500ml bottle from the brewery in Toronto, Ontario.
Bottled on December 18, 2013.

[Bottle (12oz)] Pours a nice-looking slightly hazy golden-orange with a long-lasting frothy off-white head. Some lacing. Lovely hoppy aroma, resiny and citrusy, along with fruit and breadiness. Big hoppy flavour along with a bit of alcohol, grapefruit, some tropical fruit, bready malt and a long bitter finish. Alcohol is there but not 10%. Medium bodied. A solid DIPA.

January 25, 2014. 500mL bottle from Bellwoods bottleshop. Touch of orange sweetness in the nose. Lovely orangey colour. Pretty lacing while drinking. Small head that didn’t last. Nice balanced IPA. So far my favourite IPA from Bellwoods.
