An American style IPA fermented with a Belgian yeast. The hops used add a fresh grassy character that gives way to soft floral notes. The natural Belgian yeast creates unique aromatics with a slightly pungent undertone.

Bottle. Another winner from Bellwoods. Strawish colored pour. Fruity and floral Belgian yeast adds a nice dimension and flavor profile. Nice Belgian ipa

Cloudy yellow pour. Nose is citrus hops and Belgian yeastyness. Nice foam sticks around. Flavour is smooth, hops are nice but not overbearing and the Belgian esters add a nice touch ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a light straw yellow with pillowy white top. Aroma is light citrus and yeast. Taste is so pleasant, citrus hop flavouring with yeast characteristics and a little wheat.

Pours mellow yellow with a fantastic craggy one finger cap. Aroma is muted, offering only a vague yeasty bouquet. Lets face it, rating this as an ipa doesnít quite work. But who cares: this a tasty brew. The taste here is all high notes: swirls of Belgium yeast, grassy tones, a squeeze of lemon & vague notes of pepper. The alcohol is on stealth here. Good.

2014/03/05 - Pours a hazy orange-honey colour with a large, fluffy white head that lingers and leaves ample lacing. Aroma is citrus, floral hops, Belgian spices, grass, bubblegum esters and a touch of farmhouse funk. Taste is citrus, herbal hops, grass, grain, Belgian spice and mild funk. Mouthfeel is medium and chewy with, lively carbonation and a finch that is bitter and mildly juicy. Seems to have more Belgian than IPA notes, but this isn't a bad thing. Rather enjoyable . ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500 mL bottle from the brewery served cool in a tulip glass. Hazy deep golden with a fair white head. Really funky, cat pee, a little onion and garlic, tropical fruits, faint esters, pungent citrus peel, some interesting notes, some not. Medium body, somewhat relaxed carbonation. Pungent citrus, a touch if onion, garlic and cat pee, light tropical fruits, not much Belgian character; dry with moderate bitterness and a funky kinda finish. Not my cup of tea.

500 mL bottle from the brewery, served in a branded snifter. The nose has nice citric hops combined with grass, coriander, pale malts and subtle flowers. The flavour is medium sweet with pepper and Belgian spicy notes that build towards the end; this is combined with a grapefruit bitterness, lemon a touch of earth. The finish is long, citric and earthy. On the palate, it is medium in body with a dryish texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice Belgian-style IPA. The American hops are more subdued than they could be and the Belgian notes dominate. 2014-02-16

Bottle: Poured a deep orangey color ale with a huge foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of citrus and bitter hops with subtle fruity notes. Taste is also dominated by bitter hoppy notes with some citrus notes with light fruity undertones with a lightly sweet malt backbone. Body is somewhat full with good carbonation. Enjoyable but the Belgian yeast didnít come out a much as I was expecting.

500 ml bottle courtesy of Sammy. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a big fluffy white head that has good retention. The aroma features lemons and Belgian yeasts. The taste is a big blast of citrus with lemons, grapefruit and tangerines in the forefront and spicy yeasts on the back end. The palate is full and creamy smooth and the carbonation is soft. Finishes long and dry with lingering bitter lemons. Overall: I donít consider myself a disciple of Belgian style IPAís but this may convert me into a true believer. Very tasty stuff.

On tap at the brewpub. Cloudy gold, big white head. Aroma is onion, Bazooka Joe, floral/perfume. Flavour has dill/herbs and strong esters. The best of the Bellwoods brews Iíve had so far... I think itís just a case of the brewer and I havng different tastes, as theyíre all well made, no flaws.
