Nice smell, big Brett, funky. Great stuff, citrus. Almost sour. Lots of different tastes. Was wasted by this stage.

Bottle, this taste just like a Chardonnay, i really didn’t get much other then that. The Brett didnt really come through but it was drinkable. It was more winey then i would liked. Worth a taste

Hazy golden color, light white head. Very dry beautiful fruity nose with brett and oak. Very delicate. Excellent mouth feel, mildly tart, very lightly, but balanced with significant amount of hops with oak and a touch of vanilla. what is really amazing is how integrated the beer is. Flawless execution. Amazing depth. Every sip from start to finish is slightly different. Light oak funky brett finish. Excellent.

Pours a cloudy canola with a generous champagne style cap. The nose on this brew is some serious funk. Pop the cap off this bottle & George Clinton will be jealous. A beautiful sipping saison that gives me crisp white wine, tart apple cider, fresh goose berries & lemon zest on the tongue. This is a serious brew by maybe the most serious brewery in Toronto. So serious it’s got me driving across the city on a sunny Saturday morning for more.

500 mL bottle. Lightly hazed straw with a voluptuous, soapy, white head that persists. Brett forward on the nose, funky, preserved lemon, apricot, straw, grain and a bit of barrel. Dry as a bone, crispy, moderate body and heavy plus carbonation. Shares some similarities with a good Cava. Thank the good folks at Bellwoods for having this available so frequently.

500ml bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of dry Brettiness, some pale malts, light wine and oak notes, some fruity notes from the Brett, and some light tartness. Flavor the same. Average texture. A really cool beer.

Hazy blond body with decent white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is slightly funky from the brett’s presence, citrus and honey along with some yeast and dough. The mix of brett, citrus and oak gives the beer a cedar impression. Oak and white wine is much more present in taste. There is a nice brett tartness, also rich belgian yeast and dough flavor. Full bodied and fluffy, lively carbonation but small bubbles and falls off quickly. An interesting take on the saison style. It has the american experimental personnality (brett, wild, barrel aged) with the belgian tradition (full bodied and yeasty/spicy). Unfortunately, It falls short on both ends as it is not as complex/spectacular as the best American saison/sour ale nor as impeccably executed (especially for the carbonation) like the best belgian example of the style but still a good and unique experiment. Overall, this is a good first impression from Bellwoods and I’m looking forward to try more of their offerings.

UPDATED: APR 16, 2014 This bottle says 7.2% ABV, thanks to Hammy78 for this one! Pours a really hazy pale golden with a small white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is fruity, spicy and a little dusty. Taste is indeed fruity, dry. Some fresh cereals in the flavor department but it is mostly citrusy and fresh. Gently tart. Finish is lightly bitter, drying. Body is light to medium, mouthfeel really airy with the higher order carbonation. Not bad at all, just not as good as I thought it would be. Maybe the brett didn’t develop as much in my bottle?

A little footy/yeasty, has a nice thick head though. Sweet, a bit fruity but with sticky pale malts. Maybe a touch of spice. The brett does not seem to have kicked in yet.
