Batch 3, bottled September 11, 2013. 500 mL bottle from the brewery, served in a branded snifter. Pours hazy golden with a medium off-white head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has notes of apple cider, sour fruit, grapes and oak, along with grass, flowers, pale malts and a beautifully complex barnyard note. The flavour is mildly tart throughout with a moderate malty sweetness. There are notes of sour fruit, white wine, oak, Belgian spice and dust. Barnyardy, earthy notes come through as well. The finish is long and tart, but also spicy and malty. Well balanced as the brew is throughout. Overall, this is an excellent barrel-aged saison with Brettanomyces. Surprisingly complex and cidery, this is a truly excellent brew. 2014-02-16

February 13, 2014. 500mL bottle from Bellwoods bottleshop. Sourness in aroma with farmhouse aromas underneath. Yellow gold colour. Sour plums and lemon flavours, straw and bread. Quite nice. I prefer the classic farmhouse over this one.

500mL bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a cloudy pale orangey yellow with a medium white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, very light funk, and citrus. Flavour is quite complex, bringing out traditional farmhouse yeast notes, some brett funk, citrus zest, and even a bit of salt. Extremely refreshing, yeasty and well-balanced. A brett saison that can compete with the best of them. Wonderful.

500 ml bottle courtesy of Sammy, Thanks. POurs a cloudy yellow color with a frothy white head that has good retention. The aroma is overtly funky with sour grapes, tart lemon and spicy yeast. The flavor is similar to the nose; Sour grapes, citrus and yeast set in a semi sweet malt base. The palate is full and smooth with soft carbonation. Finishes long and semi-sweet. Overall: Good stuff, this is one of the very best saisons that I have had the honour of sampling.

Dec 2013 bottle. This really hits the right spot. Pours slightly cloudy yellow with a lasting foamy white head and chunky lacing. Nose is tart and some yeast. Notes of lemon, some fruit and some yeast. Taste is light sweet light/med tart. Medium body somewhat creamy with lively carbonation. Nice!

gramity (1530) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 7, 2014
Pours a cloudy yellow with a large lasting fluffy white head and minimal lacing on the glass. Aroma is sour, yeasty and herbal -- that’s it but it’s strong and awesome. Herbal, yeasty flavour along with some grassy hops and a bitter finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium bodied. Barrel-ageing on this is very subtle

2013/12/18 - Pours a cloudy, pale straw colour with a large, fizzy, white head that quickly reduces to a lingering surface film. Aroma is citrus, funk, pepper and white wine. Taste is tart citrus, white wine, pepper and lots of funk (without being overpowering). Mouthfeel is medium with smooth carbonation and a tart, juicy aftertaste. Would definitely drink again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from the brewery. Hazy golden-yellow with big white head that puffs up above the glass like a massive marshmallow before slowly collapsing. Aroma of tart fruit - citrus, pineapple - peppery yeast, and back notes of funky horse blanket and band-aid. Flavour of lemongrass, sour wood, bit of iodine, chalky sour candy, fermented lemon. Finishing note tastes like a first aid kit - but in a really good way. An odd and oddly invigorating beer.

Bottle from brewery. Pours cloudy pale yellow. Aroma is sour with spices and herbs. Taste is spicy, sweet malt, and only lightly sour. High carbonation. I enjoyed this.

500 ml bottle from brewery retail store. Pours a cloudy burnt straw colour with large white head and lots of tiny floaties as well as fairly steady stream of small bubbles. Aroma is citrus, pepper and lots of funk. Flavour is also full of funkiness with some sour lemon, white wine and lots of peppery character. Don’t get much barrel, but do get the wine. Thinner than anticipated. Good, but didn’t blow me away.
