3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml bottle. Pours slightly hazy and has a yellow colour & pillowy white head. Has a very estery aroma with spice and vanillin but there is also some apple and pear in there as well. Lively carbonation give way to spice, herbal bitterness and a fast finish. This medium bodied brew is a good sipper but lack real character.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
New bottle (post August 2013). Pours an incredibly clear and pale straw colour with a massive thick white head. The nose is light and quite perfumey - notes of apple and pear with a bit of soft spicy/herbal hop character as well. Actually quite Duvel-esque (not a bad thing) with some wheaty spice and a touch of light black pepper. Light palate with some almost minty notes and a soft pale Belgian malt base. It drinks more BSA than saison, but it’s a very tasty brew regardless of what it’s called. Lean and dry.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
(500ml custom-label bottle from the brewery, no Brett) Pours a hazy straw yellow, decent head of white foam with a bit of spotty lace left behind. Aroma yeast-forward, some light banana esters, fresh white bread, a little bit of spice, also some lemon, herb/grass, touch of grain. Flavour has a little bit of malt sweetness to begin but already bitter/tart, which builds throughout. Some spice, lemon/orange, hay and herb type floral hops, bready yeast. Quite dry and slightly bitter by the end with grain and the dusty yeast character clinging to the top of the mouth that I associate with a to-style Belgian saison. Mouthfeel quite light, carb effervescent and prickly. I think this is a good take on a traditional farmhouse saison without spice additions, serious funk or any other tricks. Nothing sticks out, but very competently made and refreshing.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml custom label bottle.
Pours a translucent pale yellow with a fluffy three finger white head. A stream of carbonation can be seen rising from the middle of the glass. Looks great.
Aroma has big notes of citrus (orange and lemon), yeast, candy sugar, and hints of banana and spice.
Taste is a balanced slightly bitter/sweet with notes of spice and orange on the finish.
Medium body with a medium-high carbonation. Smooth and refreshing texture with a lively and effervescent mouth feel.
Overall really good. This would be really good in the summer. Very refreshing and drinkable for 7%. Would buy and enjoy again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle not Brett. Fresh. Hazy straw pour. Big white bubble head. Lots of dark floaters. Banana spice bread nose. Lots of yeast. Some grass and citrus. I’d look for this to be more champagne-like and some sour notes and funk to get more marks. Tastes like a hefeweisse with a larger mouthfeel. It’s good. Just not enough farmhouse or saison qualities you usually see.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Poured a hazy light yellow color ale with a super large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of floral and light grassy notes with deep rustic malt flavours. Taste is also dominated by deep rustic malt flavours with limited sweetness and some grainy notes. Light dry and floral hoppy notes are also discernable. Body is quite full with limited filtration and good carbonation. Well brewed done maybe a tad too much grainy malt notes for my liking.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
2013-07-06. Crisp yellow body with a giant foamy white head. 3++ Aroma is mild but pleasant, bits of lemon and light funk. Flavour is pleasant, fairly dry overall, mild grassy barnyard touches, notes of bitterness and lemon. Average bodied palate, effervescent carbonation. The brett adds a mild funk throughout, and it seems quite dry overally. With Brett, Bottle from the brewery, Toronto
