3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Balanced brett, belgian yeast and alcohol on the nose. Very hazy with chunks of yeast floating around in the bottle, thick head that stays around for a while. Flavor starts off tart, belgian yeast becomes apparent in the middle and bread flavors come through in the finish. Alcohol comes through a bit too as this warms. Remains quite refreshing. Heavily carbonated and medium bodied.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Winter isnít the typical time in Canada to think of Saison season yet this tasty number is a paragon of farmhouse juice excellence. Brilliantly transparent gold, a stiff white peak lasting for days, spicy and floral hops, light funk, bubblegum, cereal, orange...it is all here. At 7% it remains light and sessionable (tasting), the body crisp and refreshingly dry.

500 ml bottle from the brewery. Pours a hazy yellow colour with a huge white head. Nice lacing and retention. Aroma is wheat, Belgian yeast, some tropical fruits. Taste is same, with some citrus. Very good beer. Got an ABV of 5.4% for this one. New batch?

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draught at the brewery. Hazy yellow-orange body, large white head. The aroma is like a white wheat beer in Germany. The taste is a bit weaker and more watery than a typical Belgian wit though.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a fair size frothy white head and has a hazy golden appearance. Decent lacing. Aromas are mainly Belgian yeast and tropical fruits. Flavours are mostly of the citrus hop variety. Lots of tropical fruit notes, yeast. A bit of bitterness on the palate, nothing offensive. Great retention.

500ml bottle. Deeply hazed golden orange pour with a good layer of white foam and bubbles. Flavors are soft and sweet cereals, definitely wheat, yeast, banana, sweet and juicy fruits, citrusy and tropical, also some honey and flowers with herbal and spicy notes. Body is medium with good carbonation, oily texture. Good stuff.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Really nice aroma, wheaty, yeasty, a bit funky. Very cloudy with a big white head, foamed out of the bottle. Sparkling slightly acidic mouthfeel, not too sour but some refreshing sharpness. Light-medium bodied. Yeasty flavour, bretty, awesome! It could be from Belgium... but I know I only biked down the street to buy it :P

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
In short: A dry and hoppy-grassy blonde Belgian ale with a wheat-like sensation. Very good thirst beer.
How: Bottle, consumed with a few months of age on it. Bottle sent to me by blankboy, thanks a lot Paul.
The look: Cloudy yellow body topped by a medium white head leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: Nose is wild flowers, a certain herbal spiciness, fruity esters of bananas and papaya, a mild rustic character. In mouth the beer offers a nourishing body with a lively carbonation. Taste is pleasant. There is a solid malt backbone that feels likes wheat and oatmeal flakes covered with white flour. Also some cookie dough. There is a spicy herbal component reminiscent of fresh coriander. There is also fruity flavors of young bananas and lemon zest. Generous hopping adding flavors of spicy dry grass and citric notes. Saison yeast shows through a good attenuation more than a true rustic character. Despite its name I didnít find it was a classic farmhouse Saison, but I found it very good and thatís what is the most important. And I hate to sound pretentious with name dropping, but the dirty underwear I was wearing while drinking this beer alone on a Saturday night were genuine Calvin Klein.
