4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 JoeMcPhee (7620) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, - NOV 18, 2012Pale orange topped by a thick rocky head. The aroma is very fruity and tropical. Lean pale malt topped by fresh hoppy goodness. Juicy and tropical with a sort of mango/pineapple flavour. Some sweetness but still nicely dry. You can tell there's a nice alcoholic kick in here, but it's not hot at all. Bright and juicy with some orange creamsicle aroma retronasally. Damn - this stuff is awesome.

Me fais penser à une mauvaise triple. Dommage

[4754-20120823] Tap. Grassy hops aroma has a hint of roasted orange. Hazy, orange body with a quick foamy white head. Boozy citrus flesh and hoppy floral leaf flavour. Medium-full body. Good. (6+/3/7/4/15) 3.5

Bottle from the brewery. Golden body with a coppery hue and a fair number of yeasty floaties hanging around under the tight white head. Aroma of tropical fruit - prominently pineapple, with mango in a supporting role - and orange juice, plus a bit of caramel. Flavour is also dominated by fruit flavours - pineapple, peach, orange, grapefruit - starting sweet and ending bitter, with a nice progression between. A yeasty edge starts to develop towards the bottom of the glass, along with a buzzy boozy warmth. Quite nice, and worthy of being one of the last beers that Luc was involved in brewing before he left Canada for Japan.

Bottle. Great citrus aroma. Clear and clean white head. Not complex. I found it a little sharp and ABV was too prevalent. I prefer a chewier palate, but for a simple strong IPA it’s satisfying.

Bottle from Sammy on the 2012 Grey Cup trip. Not enough room in the suitcase so a nice pick for breakfast. Like a mimosa. Tastes like old orange juice, has that sharper bitterness of citrus juice too long in the fridge. In beer it tastes good. ABV does not mar the beer but contributes to the melange.

Bottle from brewery. Pours pale amber, with a thin head. Pleasant fruity aroma... English hops? Fairly light fruity taste, quite bitter throughout, with a slight alcoholic finish. This is pretty good, but nothing spectacular.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a good amount of head, lots of visible carbonation and a lots of yeasty bits. Smell is mostly citrus hops, but has a hint of malty sweetness as well. Palate is medium bodied with a good amount of soft active carbonation. Taste is bitter at first, with lots of hoppiness but then you get a strong alcohol taste with some spices, kind of like gin, and the aftertaste continues the spicy hoppy bitterness for quite a while.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy orange with a thick white head. Aroma of grapefruit, tropical fruit, grassy hops, and a hint of wood. Flavor of spicy hops, buttery bready malt, bitter citrus. The brewers definitely accomplished their goal of creating a hoppy but not heavy IPA. This is very hoppy but doesn’t come off as too strong or sweet. Tasty beer!
