500mL bottle (mine says the ABV is 8.5%), sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours black with a small beige head. Nose brings out dry cocoa, lots of roasted malt, and small hint od dried dark fruits. Flavour brings out roasted malts upfront, followed by some dry cocoa powder. Very robust flavour profile, more so than usual for a porter. Great silky body, with high drinkability. Excellent stuff.

Drank on tap (12 oz) at the brewpub on Oktober 10, 2014. Black, thin head. Dark malt, licorice and tobacco aroma, a bit of sweetness. Meaty licorice taste, spicy herbs notes, dry herb bitterness. Unusual but very tasty!

500 mL bottle from the brewery via my bro served cool in a tulip glass. Deep brown-black with a decent mocha head. Lots of black strap molasses, coffee, licorice notes, a touch of dark chocolate big stuff. Medium-full body with fairly full carbonation. Molasses, coffee, very rich, dark chocolate, nice stuff; somewhat sweet with fairly big bitterness, and a long, rich, dark malt finish. Quite good.

12oz on tap into a chalice at Stillwell. Pours a silky jet black with a light fluffy tan head. Nose of coffee and roasted malts, with a flavour of dark chocolate and dried fruits. Quite a bit of up-front bitterness, and some lasting warming. Glad I got I chance to try this!

Pours silky black with a small brown ring. Aroma is rich roasted malt, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is much like the nose, big roasted malts, bitter dark chocolate, lacing of vanilla. Thanks to my sister for making this happen.

Scent of coffee and heavily roasted malt. Opaque dark chocolate colour. Mild bitterness on the front with slight sourness on the finish. Flavour of dark chocolate, coffee, and walnuts. Heavy body with medium carbonation. A very tasty porter.

January 19, 2014. 500mL bottle from Bellwoods bottle shop. Aroma of sweet chocolate and cherries. Touch of bitterness in aftertaste. Chocolate, coffee and cherry in flavours. One of the first Bellwoods beers I ever had, and it has nicely remained my favourite even after sampling quite a number of their other brews.

draught. Dark black colour, brown creamy head. Chocolate, smoke and roast. Very dry, creamy. Ok, but kind of one-dimensional.
