Draught at Bellwoods Brewery. Inky black with very small dark tan head and spotty legs. Smells of coffee, dark chocolate, herbal hop and some very light raisin/soy sauce. Tastes very bitter, dark chocolate, bitter gently fizzy finish. A very bitter if otherwise ordinary porter.

HKdIPA (563) - HONG KONG - JAN 3, 2015
Draught at Bellwoods Brewery in Toronto. Rich dark pour. Tan head. Aroma not too strong - standard porter. Taste is very rich and deep - pleasant bitterness with caramel maltiness. Bigger, but fairly normal, porter. Good. Would get again.

Christmas Eve pour as 1950’s holiday lounge music spins on Internet radio is dark chocolate with a thin brown cap. Swirls velvet smooth in the mouth & offers hints of cocoa, dark fruit & a really interesting sea salt finish. Beautiful brew that makes for a relaxing & reflective sipper in a dimly lit room. Recommended.

500 ml bottle. Pours a thick oily black with a huge cascading brown head. Aromas of chalk, cocoa, and roast. Tastes are roasty, coffee, and bitter chocolate. Plenty of carbonation, oily texture, and a long bitter finish. Nice beer.

Brillant.

500ml bottle in a stem glass. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted and chocolate malts, some light notes of bitterness, light dough, and hints of coffee. Flavor the same with a nice blend. Average texture. A solid beer but not the best of the style.

Dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, touch of vanilla, herbal hops, creamy mouthfeel. Very smooth and enjoyable porter.

500mL bottle (mine says the ABV is 8.5%), sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours black with a small beige head. Nose brings out dry cocoa, lots of roasted malt, and small hint od dried dark fruits. Flavour brings out roasted malts upfront, followed by some dry cocoa powder. Very robust flavour profile, more so than usual for a porter. Great silky body, with high drinkability. Excellent stuff.

Drank on tap (12 oz) at the brewpub on Oktober 10, 2014. Black, thin head. Dark malt, licorice and tobacco aroma, a bit of sweetness. Meaty licorice taste, spicy herbs notes, dry herb bitterness. Unusual but very tasty!

500 mL bottle from the brewery via my bro served cool in a tulip glass. Deep brown-black with a decent mocha head. Lots of black strap molasses, coffee, licorice notes, a touch of dark chocolate big stuff. Medium-full body with fairly full carbonation. Molasses, coffee, very rich, dark chocolate, nice stuff; somewhat sweet with fairly big bitterness, and a long, rich, dark malt finish. Quite good.
