650ml bottle from the brewery. Appearance: Pours a thick black, no head, some visible carbonation. Aroma: malt, caramel, chocolate, raisins. Palate: thick bodied, not very fizzy, quite astringent, long oily finish. Taste: quite sweet. Coffee flavour really comes out in the taste. Very malty. Not bad.

Bottle (500 ml). Split 2-ways with Simon B. Dark reddish brown with a medium beige head, low retention, leaving little lacing. Aroma is super fruity with chocolate, roasted malts, hints of vanilla and caramel/molasses. Taste is moderately sweet and super fruity (dark fruits & berries) with chocolate, caramel/molasses, roasted malts, vanilla and hints of liquorice. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Somewhat fluffy but also thin mouthfeel. Fruity and chocolate finish. It lacks a bit of depth for a Baltic Porter. Super fruity, could be a bit more balanced. Not bad at all, but subpar for Bellwoods and disappointing considering some of the other ratings. Anyway it’s a good fruit forward moderately sweet Baltic Porter.

500ml bottle bought at brewery by my brother. Thanks Guillaume. Aroma: roasted malt, chocolate, nutty, but at the same time there is to something not right in this aroma. Not enough strong lacking something like alcohol, some boozy notes. App: pitch dark with big brown head and some little lacing. Taste and palate: first thing I noticed is this feels watery.. This is smooth but watery. What a shame. Med body, med sweetness, really subtle bitter finish. Overall: it?s sad because not knowing ltm their porter baltique this could probably be something I enjoy a lot but I?ve been too used to drinking that ltm pb so this feels quite short. Maybe they should make a pimp version of it something much more stronger in abv?

650ml bottle. Near black in colour with a thin but lasting tan head, light lacing. The aroma is of chocolate, liquorice, dark fruits, some sugar. The flavour is lightly sweet, some roast at the end, chocolate, molasses, dark malts. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, roasty, sweet. An interesting beer. Roasty at times, sweet at times. Seems bigger then 7%.

Bottle thx Alex A: lightly roasty, chocolate, light plum App: black small beige head some lacing. T/p: med to full body with medium long bitter finish. Soft to med carbonation. O: it lacks a bit of malt complexity but still remains highly drinkable. I really dig the light roastiness.

Winter 2015 bottling. 7.6% abv. Pours black with head approaching espresso crema. Nose is coffee, roasted, dark chocolate goodness. Wonderfully creamY mouthfeel. Taste is well balanced, deep roasted malt, sweet dark chocolate, some cola, creamy taste. Made we want to dunk a cookie into it (I didn’t). Let this one warm up. Extremely delicious.

Bon porter.

Draft at brewery. I was rather disappointed with this one. Dark pour, khaki head, that dies to a ring. Smell is off, it resembles a black IPA more than a porter, but these styles often blend into one another. It just smelt bad, with a touch of hop. Tasted worse. Didn’t like this one. Hope it was just a dirty glass or something.
