3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
2014-01-17. Hazy pastel orange body with a small white head. 3+ Aroma is moderately hoppy, interesting hop profile, lightly floral, grassy and something I canít place. Flavour is moderately bitter, interesting grassy notes, tropical fruit, mango/guava. Smooth average to medium bodied palate, soft carbonation. Enjoyable and quite drinkable. Adding +1 overall because it is enjoyable but I suspect the hops have lost just a touch of their oomph lingering in my cellar for a few months. Bottle from the brewery, Toronto

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not the most remarkable of the single hop series. Pours cloudy blonde. Not a whole lot going on here. A little piney but the hops presence isnít huge. Maybe the weakest hops variety Iíve had - not familiar with it but wonít be chasing it down again soon. Some very light citrus, and light palate. Some malt. Tap at brewpub.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at Bar Hop. Pours a cloudy gold with an average size diminishing frothy off-white head. Lovely aroma of hops, catty and fruity. Nice hoppy flavour, also catty, a bit spicy and with a good amount of fruit. Moderate bitter finish. Medium bodied. A pleasure to drink.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at the brewpub. With most of the Monogamy series, Iíve had some familiarity with the hop used before trying the beer - some moreso than others - but this is the first one where I knew pretty much nothing about the hop, which meant that I had no idea what aroma and flavour profile I should be expecting. It ended up being one of the better ones in the series - really nice tropical fruit notes along with a bit of citrus - but not typical citrus, something more exotic like pomelo or yuzu - and a slight muskiness. Very nice!

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at he brewpub. Looks like juice, with lace. Understated hopiness, bitter in the finish. A little musty/funky aroma. A pint yields fruity juicy hops. Smooth.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Bellwoods. Pours a translucent Orange/yellow with a white head that clings to the glass very well.Aroma is very slightly acidic with hints of orange, lemon, and earthy pepper/spice. Taste is bitter with an earthy, funky, bitter aftertaste. No trace of alcohol.Medium body and carbonation. Slightly slick in the mouth but still crisp. A bit frothy as well.Overall interesting. Never had anything like it and well worth a try. Not sure if I would order it over Roman Candle or Witchshark but still tasty and refreshing.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
(500mL bottle from brewery) Pours a cloudy dark yellow, slight orange tints, small white bubbly head didnít last. Aroma fairly subdued, hops contribute a bit of a tropical fruit mix, pineapple stood out a bit. Light citrus, seems like lime. Some earthy tones, pale malt in the background. Flavour is tropical fruit again to start, maybe a bit of a berry character, sweetness from pale malt. A lime rind/citrus pith character in the middle, green pine and earth notes. Finishes dry but only lightly bitter, earthy, some wheat, and the long aftertaste reminds me of iced tea with lemon. Mouthfeel moderate, carb soft, on style for APA. This is an interesting hop to try, and that is the raison díetre of Monogamy. I like it, but feel it maybe the hopping could be more aggressive given its characteristics.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Interesting but slightly subdued nose, some malt, caramel, citrus and an almost roasty note. Hazy yellow/golden, very light. Thin dissipating head. Interesting taste profile, upfront lots tropical fruits, mango, finishing with a bit of malt and a slightly piney finish. Very interesting. Thin palate and average carbonation, definitely one worth a try if only to showcase these hops.
