Our newest batch of Monogamy to join the popular single hop series is Mosaic! Hailing from the American west coast, this doozy of a hop is a descendent of Simcoe and said to be "like Citra on steroids". Pungently strong and full of earthy pine and tropical fruit flavour, this may just be our best Monogamy release yet! Surprising notes of blueberry mark the aftertaste of this enticing brew.

Golden-blond in colour with a thin white head, good lacing. The aroma is of tropical fruits with pineapple being most noticeable, pine and oranges. The flavour is generously hoppy, lots of pineapples, melons, oranges with some biscuit malt balance. Juicy mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, hoppy, juicy. A very good pale ale, excellent tropical bite.

500ml bottle from the brewery.

My Bottom Line:
Tropical fruit and sandy minerals establish a wonderful beach scenery on the palate and mind, as this dry and bubbly quencher trails off into citrusy hop resins.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the misty pale blond.
-The aroma was really enticing.
-This doesn’t feel like 6.4% at all.
-Bitterness is of APA intensity (more moderate than your average IPA, if you prefer).

On tap at the brewery.

Bottle from the brewery. Light bright golden with a faint haze. At first, the aoma is all about tropical fruit - most notably slightly overripe pineapple - with a bit of pine sap. The initial flavours follow this lead, along with a slightly catty note. As it warms, both aroma and flavour change considerably, with really unexpected blueberry notes starting to come though, especially towards the end of the swallow. And now I see that the commercial deScription promises this, so maybe it’s not so unexpected - still a bit odd, though, but also quite pleasant. The finish is a little sharp, with a quick jolt of pine. It’s good, but not my favourite of the series.

A hazed blonde ale with a thick frothy off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light lemon, funk, grassy resinous hops. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with nice catty citrusy hops, light Brett, nice. On tap at brewery.

[Bottle (500ml)] Pours a clear, bubbly pale gold with an average size long-lasting frothy white head. Aroma of hops mainly: Hempy, herbal, catty and sweet -- maybe piney as well. Hoppy flavour, catty and grassy, a bit spicy and piney, along with a bit of grain and some pale malt in the back. Moderate bitter finish. Medium bodied. Not my favourite Monogamy but still quite good.

500 mL bottle from the brewery, served in a stem glass. Pours clear golden with a small white head that fades quickly to a thin remnant and leaves no lace. The nose has huge notes of tropical fruit, mango, banana and pineapple, along with pine, earth and pale malts. The flavour is dry and moderately bitter with a piney, slightly citric hop profile. Pale malts come through as well, though these are somewhat muted. The finish is medium in length, grainy and somewhat resinous. On the palate it is light-medium in body with a smooth, watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice single-hop pale ale. The nose is quite nice, though the body and finish were less impressive. 2014-04-11

Draught at the brewery.
Cloudy light golden with minimal head. Smells of orange and biscuit grains. Flavour is a bit brackish but pretty drinkable. 2014-04-06

Pop the cap off the bottle & let that single hop slap you in the face, daddy-o. Pours strawberry bland with a really thin cap. Taste is thick & hoppy. I’m getting thick forests of pine & an earthy bitterness. Crisp, sessionable hop juice. Love this brewery, enjoy this series: its liquid education for me.

500 ml bottle from brewery. Pale yellow, I can almost see through it. Very aromatic, dank hops, pine, melon, apples. Taste is the same, a juicy pale ale. Mild bitterness. Delicious.

Une pale ale souple et bien équilibré avec pulsions exotiques modérées, zest d’agrumes sucrés et amertume ronde. Buvabilité exemplaire.
