A zesty American pale ale brewed with blood oranges. The coveted Kohatu hop from New Zealand imparts a juicy quality to the well-balanced brew. Bold aromatics of citrus peel, a restrained bitterness on the palate, and faintly pink in colour. This refreshing special edition beer was brewed to support Beer4Boobs Ontario, which raises money for breast cancer research.

[5202-20130407] Tap. Fragrant floral tree hops aroma. Hazy, light pink orange body with a long-lasting creamy white head. Bitter floral pine hops flavour has a nice long aftertaste. Medium body. Great bitter citrus balance. (8/4/8/4/16) 4.0

In short: A yeasty IPA with a citric oranges character. Decent beer.
How: Bottle 500ml, consumed fresh soon after receiving it from blankboy, thanks a lot Paul.
The look: Cloudy orange body topped by a medium white head leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: The hoppy nose is predominately in the oranges-tangerines fruit section along with grassy undertones. In mouth the beer the texture is somewhat fluffy-doughy with a lively carbonation. Slightly toasted cookies swimming in a yeast mixture, strong yeast presence for an APA. A very fruity APA where the fruity flavors do not feel only hop-related. Orange flesh, ruby red grapefruits, lemons plus and an overall fruity character reminiscent of many fruity Belgian blond ale. Razor-sharp finish with a strong citric flavor blending with the bitterness. A bit too yeasty for what I like in a beer like this, a good beer that did not meet my expectations for Bellwoods beers. Another beer, I had a lot drink yesterday because I thought I had found a cure for hangovers but it was a scam, after eating 4 Happy Meals I am feeling even more miserable.

On tap @ BarVolo during Bellwoods tap takeover event. Very subtle hibiscus floral character is trumped by orange peel and hop bitterness. Refreshing.

On cask at bar Volo Bellwood event. Not at all the original Omerta. Dry and near-bland. Virtually no hops, flat. Not so drinkable.

A big favourite of the Beer4Boobs, on tap at The Rhino. The blood orange flavour comes through beautifully and lends a tangy orange. Good drinkability. Light orange colour. Top of the line pale.

Bottle (500 ml). Approximately one month old. Thanks John! Slightly hazy bright golden/orange with a medium mostly lasting white head and some lacing. Aroma of orange, lemon, light caramel and floral hops. Taste is slightly sweet with orange, lemon, caramel, floral notes and light bitterness. Light to medium body. Slightly dry. Moderate carbonation. This one is a tasty American Pale Ale with the main aroma/flavor being blood orange, which is very interesting. Good balance. Quite refreshing and drinkable. If the palate could be a little drier, it would be top notch!

Initial smell of hibiscus is very nice. Aroma has light orange and citrus hops, a little malt. Pours light pinkish with good head and lacing. Finishes is nice, well-balanced with bitter perfume. Some sourness as well. Great. Bottle from Bellwoods.
