3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Wvrst in Toronto, served in a branded shaker. Pours clear straw-golden with a small white head that mostly remains and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has delicate citrus and flowers, along with straw, pale malts. The flavour is slightly sweet with notes of lemon, grass and honey paired with a soft citric hoppiness. The finish is long and citric with grassy notes. On the palate it is light in body with a dry texture and soft carbonation. Overall, an acceptable pale ale, but it is quite light for the style and could have more assertive hops. 2014-06-26

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Beautiful aroma, full of Bellwoods house character, light malt and refreshing smelling orange. Light pink, lightly effervescent, quickly dissipating head. Pretty colour. Pretty delicious, upfront get the citrus peel oils and sweet malt, finishes with fruity hops and a lingering bitterness. Very refreshing. Light bodied and average carbonation. Not the most complex beer, but very nice for a summer day, wish they produced this one more regularly.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
(500mL bottle of the 2014 version) Pours a slightly hazed dark pink-tinged peach with a small white bubbly head and a little lace. Aroma of citrus peel (especially orange), floral, slightly grassy, bit of very "Bellwoods" yeast character. On the palate, begins with a bright and juicy orange and pink grapefuit character and pale malt, just a little sweet, paired with a subtle but distinct floral hibiscus note. Hopping is not strong but makes its presence felt mid-palate, wet grass and lime zest. A bit of grain appearing on some sips in the finish, light hop bitterness, dry, an orange peel/oil note persists long after the beer is swallowed. Body pretty light but carb soft so refreshing without being sharp. Fruit and flowers held well in check, more fruity APA than fruit beer. I think it could even stand more additions, but good in the hot sun.

[5202-20130407] Tap. Fragrant floral tree hops aroma. Hazy, light pink orange body with a long-lasting creamy white head. Bitter floral pine hops flavour has a nice long aftertaste. Medium body. Great bitter citrus balance. (8/4/8/4/16) 4.0

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
In short: A yeasty IPA with a citric oranges character. Decent beer.
How: Bottle 500ml, consumed fresh soon after receiving it from blankboy, thanks a lot Paul.
The look: Cloudy orange body topped by a medium white head leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: The hoppy nose is predominately in the oranges-tangerines fruit section along with grassy undertones. In mouth the beer the texture is somewhat fluffy-doughy with a lively carbonation. Slightly toasted cookies swimming in a yeast mixture, strong yeast presence for an APA. A very fruity APA where the fruity flavors do not feel only hop-related. Orange flesh, ruby red grapefruits, lemons plus and an overall fruity character reminiscent of many fruity Belgian blond ale. Razor-sharp finish with a strong citric flavor blending with the bitterness. A bit too yeasty for what I like in a beer like this, a good beer that did not meet my expectations for Bellwoods beers. Another beer, I had a lot drink yesterday because I thought I had found a cure for hangovers but it was a scam, after eating 4 Happy Meals I am feeling even more miserable.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2014 On cask at bar Volo Bellwood event. Not at all the original Omerta. Dry and near-bland. Virtually no hops, flat. Not so drinkable.

A big favourite of the Beer4Boobs, on tap at The Rhino. The blood orange flavour comes through beautifully and lends a tangy orange. Good drinkability. Light orange colour. Top of the line pale.

pours hazy light golden, pink hue, with a tall frothy white head, excellent retention and lacing. subtle citrus, very floral, rose, juniper berries, grainy malts and pepper, lemon, lime and oranges. dry and crisp. average carbonation, light body, dry, crisp, short but assertive floral-citrusy finish. very nice!
