On draught at the Brewpub, lovely golden hue with nice head retention. Aroma carries typical west coast hope profiles, resiny, slightly tropical, some tangerine. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a nice slightly astringent finish. Top 3 Ontario IPA. Cudos.

April 8, 2014. 500mL bottle from bottleshop. Lovely lacing. Rich golden yellow with whitish yellow head. Hoppy, soapy, citrus aromas. Very nicely balanced IPA. Touch of hops, bitter lemon, hint of biscuit.

Bottle from the brewery.
Pours a cloudy golden colour with a small white head and lasting lace. Smells of oranges and pineapple. Very drinkable. Lots of fruit and a mild bitterness. Body is a bit rich for a session beer but I’d happy drink this any time. A fine IPA. 2014-04-08

500 mL bottle from the brewery, served in a branded stem glass. Pours clear golden-amber with a small white head that fades quickly to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has big notes of melon, citrus and pine, along with pale malts. The flavour is balanced between a moderate resinous, fruity hop bitterness and a nice honey-caramel sweetness with lemongrass and a touch of rye spice. The finish is long and moderately bitter with resin and a touch of cattiness. On the palate it is light-medium in body with a dryish texture and soft carbonation. Overall, a nice IPA which pairs resinous hops with a delicate fruity sweetness. 2014-04-06

500 ml bottle from the brewery. Pours our on the yellow end of the IPA spectrum. Smells nice, citrus, pine sap, some dankness. Grapefruit and pine come through on the taste. Sugary malt as well. Really easy drinking and balanced. I was expecting something more robust. A good IPA no less.

500 ml bottle from the brewery, via my bro, served cool in a tulip glass.

App.: Amber with some fine floaties and a fair off-white head. Aroma: Strong, dank cat pee (from the Citra, I think...), pine/resin and light tropical fruits, an odd burnt note, moderate malt support. Palate: Medium+ body, moderate to full carbonation. Flav.: Much like the nose with a little more fruitiness; dry with pretty good bitterness and a resinous/dank/cat pee finish.

IPAs are quite personal. Personally, I don’t quite like this one.

Tasting at Bruce’ s pad. Thanks to Colin for this one. Hazy gold-amber beer. Good pale cream coloured head. Softish airy palate with light fine citrus. Softish airy malt. Skunky hops with a touch of pine and even a whisper of mint. Very mild citrus underneath. Light dry finish provides a flash of lime peel. Nice!

Bottle at Mr Bois’s 5K, from the main man himself. It pours hazy golden-amber with a thick white head. The nose is wood, earth, varnish, grapefruit, orange and plenty of dank skunky hop action. The taste is wood, earth, toast, rather dry, grapefruit, orange peel, sherbet, some astringency, skunk and varnish with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Smooth, balanced and really rather tasty. Great stuff.

Bottle shared at my 5K tasting at Bruce’s pad, from an IP trade with my man from Toronto, 13/11/13. Hazed golden orange with a good sized off white head. Nose is earthy hops, grassy, bitter citric tones, dank pine, grapefruit. Taste comprises mandarin, earthy, orange pith, bitter grapefruit, light pine bite. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy finale with semi aggressive hop bitterness. Very drinkable IPA with dank undertones.

Bottle cheers to Colin for this Canadian gem. Pours clear golden orange with a medium, foamy white head leaving great lacing. Nose is big and skunky, massive citrus peel and lime zest. Danky as they come. Almost cat piss which can sound unappealing but damn it works well. Taste is big citric peel, lemon zest, lime tanginess, a hint of spice, herbal hops and more skunk. Bitter and aggressiveness with light citric sweetness. Really good stuff

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London - cheers, Colin! Pours mostly clear, bright gold with a creamy white head. The nose has a bit of dank hops, pee, sweat, grapefruit. Light to medium sweet flavor, modest pithy citrus, melon, grapefruit, mild pine needles. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly resinous to finish, citrus pith, grapefruit, lemon. Great stuff. Wonderful balance.
