3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draught at the Brewpub, lovely golden hue with nice head retention. Aroma carries typical west coast hope profiles, resiny, slightly tropical, some tangerine. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a nice slightly astringent finish. Top 3 Ontario IPA. Cudos.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy light amber, huge weed aroma, like drinking in a grow-op. With a litterbox. A bit thin and a bit chewy at the same time. Hops are sweeter and more lemon candy. But decent ipa, tastes light and moreish. Columbus & Citra.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at Bellwoods Brewery in Toronto. Deep orange amber pour. Minimal head. Aroma is biscuit, orange, fruity hops. Taste is more explosive - big tropical fruit flavor with heavy dose of malts too. Crisp bitter finish. Good, if heavy, IPA. Would get again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pale amber with white head. The aroma is very tropical. Some mango and juicy fruit along with some grassy/zesty notes. Brightly zesty and delicious. Assertively hopped but well balanced. There is just a touch of malt flavour but itís nice and lean.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours pale amber with two fingers of fluffy white head diminishing gradually to a thick cap, moderate lacing (4/5). Nose is hop heavy, resin, pine, citrus, with a muted caramel malt background (8/10). Taste is low sweetness and moderate to strong bitter, growing pepperiness (8/10). Light body, moderate sustained carbonation, lingering bitter finish (5/5).
Iím liking this a lot. Mind you, itís been, what, at least a week since I had a nice hoppy IPA? (Correction - my last APA was two weeks ago, and my last true A/IPA, almost a month! No wonder Iím liking this so much!) Lovely resin and piney hops from the instant the cap comes off the bottle, and the taste follows through, hop forward with just enough caramel malt to support the hoppy bitterness, without getting in the way. Kind of reminds me of the Phillips Bottle Rocket in that itís light, easy drinking and crisp, while delivering a whole lot of hoppy goodness. (Although the Roman Candle has a much higher ABV, itís completely integrated and doesnít appear at all in the taste or the finish.) Iím rating this identically to the Bellwoods Boogie Monster, but for slightly different reasons. (17/20)

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Working my way, gratefully, through Bellwoodsí brews. Pours a slightly cloudy golden amber with a bit of white head. Not surpriasingly this IPAís nose is all about the hops, citrus and resin, with a little pine. You also get the hay malts in there but they really take a back seat. The taste of the beer is also heavy on the hops, but not overwhelming. Some hoppy bitterness, resin and pine. Softer malts support the beer. Bitter aftertaste. Overall good job.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml bottle in a stem glass. Pours hazy amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of citrusy and resinous and lightly piney hops, some pale and caramel malts, and some dough. The flavor has a lot of hop bitterness and slightly too many malts, and I think that takes away slightly from the citra hops. Average texture. Still a really cool beer.
