Pours dark copper with creamy head, lots of carpet lacing. Smells a little hoppy with some malt. Taste is light sour with light bitterness. Pretty high carbonation. Pretty decent for style. On tap at brewpub.

January 2, 2013 - on draught at the brewpub. Like most of their beers, it looks fantastic - clear, deep and refractive reddish-copper with a long-lasting creamy beige/tan head and even thick lace remnant. It smells a bit like an ESB with no alcohol presence - floral and sweet, but still dry with just a hint of cocoa roastiness. Taste is very very smooth - simple, balanced, dry and quick-finishing - the dryness removes any residual sweetness and it leaves pretty much no aftertaste. On my next visit to Indie I am promising myself at least one full pint of this, no matter how many ratings are on.

[4956-20121117] Tap. Light nutty smoked grains aroma. Clear, dark cola body with a quick foamy off-white head. Toasted nutty malt flavour. Medium body. Fairly drinkable, well-balanced if you like milds a little on the dry side. (6+/3/7/4/14) 3.4

Draught at the brewpub. Pours a dark amber-brown, almost black, with a small semi-lasting creamy beige head. Nice aroma of light roasted malt, fruit, light hops and light spices. Flavour, also nice, of toasted malt,a good amount of hops and some chocolaty notes. Dry, bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Impressive, this is quite flavourful for a Mild -- really good!

Amber-brown pour. Nice tight head. Fresh crackery malt and a little bit of nice spicy UK hoppiness. A little bit of brown malt character and some light peppery character. Really great brew. Highly quaffable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2012-11-17. Dark brown, nice beige head. 3+ flavour is well balanced, fairly typical mild character in some ways, dry malt, modest bitterness, finishes quite dry and a bit minerally. 7+ Aroma of dry malt, very mild toasty/roast cocoa malt profiles. Average plus bodied palate has suitable carbonation. Well made take on the style, but a bit too dry for my own preferences. I’d like some more sweetness to the malt. On tap at Indie Alehouse, Toronto

SO hard to find a good mild, this one is great. Velvet chocolate but fades to malty smoothness with lingering sweetness. All in proportion and a hint of hops. Saves me a trip to the UK.
