COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Weft & Warp is a strong, Berliner weisse-style ale that was kettle soured and aged in chardonnay barrels. The beer’s acidity blends beautifully with aromatics from the chardonnay barrels. Best enjoyed fresh. (A counterpart to Warp & Weft, a tequila barrel-aged version of the same beer.)

500ml bottle from the brewery in Toronto, Ontario. Clear golden in colour with a small and dissipating white head, little lacing. The aroma is of grapes, some lemons, wood, lactose. The flavour is woody, lots of grape skins, light lemon citrus, lightly tart and acidic. Tart mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium carbonation. Finishes dry, tart. A very good Berliner. Lots going on in this.

Slightly cloudy yellow with a creamy pale head. Aroma is lychee, tropical fruit, hint of passionfruit and funk, some nectarine. Medium-full bodied, fruity on the palate. Taste is lychee, passionfruit, subtle hint of young white wine. Yummy

Bottle 500ml. Pours hazy blond with medium white head. Aroma is of fruits, perfume, medical stuff, pears. Taste is of sourness, unripe fruits, citrus, apples (dirty muddy brown apple juice). Palate: Light-medium body. Overall: Yeast is just a tad off I think. Other than this: good. Sourness is under control.

Bottle, from jercraigs (thanks Jetemy!) and shared at RBAG 2014. Hazy bright yellow with a frothy white head that laces thickly. Aroma is tart orchard fruit skins and wet hair. The palate delivers tart, puckering starfruit and white grapes, a touch of funk. Incredibly refreshing. One of my top of the entire weekend.

bottle shared by tom10101, thanks bro. pours hazy almost cloudy pale yellow with a very nice white cap showing good retention and lacing. enticing aroma: apple flesh freshly bitten, very light oxidized fruitiness - welcoming in fact, some melons, light perfume, medium acidity - slightly puckering - relatively clean lactic, bitter herbs. bright to average carbonation, light body, tart if not sour grassy finish. interestingly unique.

Bottle shared by tom10101, thanks a lot bro! Pours a light yellow with a medium white head that leaves fair lacing. Nose is of sweet grapes but also some light and crisp green apples. Taste is of green grapes with a medium-high tartness level but still bearable. Body is light and acidity is really refreshing. Carbonation is on the higher side and festive. Overall a really nice beer, I enjoyed it quite a lot!

Bottle (500 ml). From Sammy, thanks! Clear bright golden with a medium mostly lasting white head and little lacing. Aroma is really fruity, probably partly because of the Chardonnay barrel which is quite recognizable with green grapes and light sweetness notes. Taste is also quite fruity with a nice acidic presence, light sweetness, wood and wine. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Slightly winey mouthfeel. Slightly puckering. Tasty Berliner Weiss, to it’s a tad heavy for the style. Unique flavor profile. So much better than the Tequila version.

Bottle - Tart fruit, orange and some funk. Cloudy orange with a decent white head. Nice tart fruit and the Chardonnay comes through. Very light and refreshing, but not quite the Berliner Weiss I was hoping for.

Bottle to goblet at RBAG Sour apple, white wine, and some starchy fruit. Cloudy yellow, thin head. Lemon and lots of white wine. Try with salt and vinegar chips.

Bottle shared by Tony at RBAG. Hazy yellow pour, aroma is sweaty lemon, salt, and grape must. Taste is tart up front, prickly carbonation, some citrus fruit, salt, mild vinous character, bone dry finish. Great summer beer.
