Medium pale gold and rocky white foam, aromas of tropical fruit and pine resin and some grapefruit that play into taste. Sharp bitterness that rounds off in some warming alcohol and a bit of malt sweetness. Palate is mildly sharp and the finish carries long with grassy-herbal sharp hops.

Tapped at Barhop in Toronto/Canada. After the Amsterdam Brewhouse hoppy visit we went to this place. Overall a great IIPA! malty, sweet a bit, mild hoppy at 105 IBUs. Alcohol present but warming. A balanced IIPA, very very tasty.

Marmalade jam, toffee and tropical fruits on tje nose. Rich toffee malt body, though light enough as to not be a distraction. Big tropical fruit with some pine and citrus. Medium finish.

Beautiful deep golden color. Huge mango, piney nose with a touch grapefruit and caramel. Big malty backbone, very clean, with lots of mango, caramel and pine notes. Full bodied, really well balanced and beautifully executed. Big bitter lasting finish. Wonderful IIPA. Stone fruit also lingers in the finish.

500 ml bottle from brewery. Hazy dark honey colour, off white head with lacing. Smells like citrus and pine. Not much malt presence. Tastes like pine resin, grapefruits. Lingering bitter finish. Yum.

Bottle bought from the brewery. Pours a light orange-amber with a finger of off-white foamy head with lacing. Big nose of pine and citrus hops. Taste of hops up front leaning toward the citrus first, some vanilla flavours, soft bready malts, an overall creaminess, with a piney finishing. A creamy mouth-feel. A little lingering bitterness in the aftertaste, not lovely, but a price worth paying for the rest of it. "I think it’s a little funny that the "witch" part of the Witchshark is wearing a very hipster sweater. Quite the witch.

My Bottom Line:
Floral, citrusy hops bloom through bubblegum candy notes in this slender, elegant Imperial IPA.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A rich head of foam crowns the translucent pale amber.
-Mouthfeel is effervescent, cushiony and super comfortable.
-Hop aroma and flavors could be brighter (these bottles are super fresh).
-Hop finish is beautifully herbal and resinous.
-Malts offer delicate biscuity notes.
-This is not one of those super intense Imperial IPAs.

12oz into a tulip on tap at Stillwell. Pours a hazy orange-amber with a sparse peripheral white head which leaves a goodly amount of lacing. Citrus nose with some tropical fruit and a bit of woodiness. Moderate sweetness but a lighter body than I’d anticipated. Long, dry finish. A solid IIPA.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours a deep slightly hazy orange with a generous off white head that hangs around for a while. Nose is citrus , mango and pine with some hint of bready malt. Slightly sweet start with some pepper leading into a nice level of bitterness with grapefruit dominant. Medium full body with lively carbonation. Excellent.

Pours cherry sunburst with a thick froth cap that laces the glass nicely. A serious Imp ipa that showcases deep malting & punchy hops. Tasty & rich & a little over rated on this site. Hey - it’s a really good brew, but too many reviewers here -- people I follow & respect for their insight -- over hype this by calling it Ontario’s best Imperial IPA. I disagree & offer these alternatives as more exciting incarnations of the style: Great Lake’s Robohop, Black Oak 10 bitter years, and probably my favourite: Bellwoods own Boogie Monster.

500 ml. bottle. Thanks Steve! Pours a somewhat hazy golden orange with a smallish white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, and floral. Taste is grapefruit, pine, floral, and malt. Nice DIPA.
