COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is not for the weak at heart. Long Beach Crude is a Stout that is pitch black with a rich chocolaty favor and a perfectly balanced hop profile to allow all of the malt flavors to dominate.

On tap @ Belmont Brewing. Black pour with a khaki head. Really ashy aroma. Slight vanilla, some graham cracker, and coffee grounds. A big roasted malt and burnt sugar note as well. Flavor is quite bitter an roasty. Tons of coffee, ash, and burnt sugar. Slight acidity, some dark chocolate, and graham cracker provides a light sweetness.

This beer is hit and miss the particular batch I had was very stout in characteristic. Overall decent beer I’ve had better from this plac and I’ve had worse. This one was generally a good bet for a thick rich stout type of beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Really dark, almost black, topped by a light tan head. The aroma is roasted, with coffee, some toast and chocolate hints. Dry, full-bodied and a bit heavy on the carbonation. The flavor is roasted, with toast, coffee and a hint of prunes. Long, roasted finish with a nice bitterness. A tad dry I think, but nice. 130812

On tap at the brewery. Nice roasted-burnt malt nose, with chocolate and coffee and molasses. Dark black opaque with creamy thin light tan head. Medium to heavy in body, with medium carbonation. Starts and stays fairly sweet, with a lot of roasted flavor, finishing with a carbonic tang and coffee ground note. Sweet malty chocolate after, with lingering nutty-charred bitterness. A nice stout.

On tap at the brewpub. Definitely their best beer. Pours very dark amber with a tan head. The aroma is dark roasted with licorice and cocoa. The flavor is fruity with hints of coffee and cocoa. It has a very roasted ashy finish. A little skunk.
