4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 anaheim1983 (111) - Anaheim, California, USA - FEB 23, 2006
This one poured with a beautiful, two-fingered and fluffy head that has a bit of a peach hue. The beer itself is straight copper in color. The nose is wonderfully complex and assertive. Bountiful floral hop elements mix with prominent sweet malty notes. The body is medium but the mouthfeel has clear traction to it, leading you to believe it will be gritty and hoppy. The lovely hop notes are balanced well with what can mostly be described by a sweet, creamy malt concoction. The contrast is unreal. It finishes with a puckering kick, but floral remnants keep it an easy-to-drink offering. A very complex beer for the style.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 grant (842) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - OCT 11, 2009
Very pale, even for a pale ale. Looks like no toasted malts. Obviously unfiltered and quite opaque. Sharp grapefruit aroma - brought to mind Cascade immediately but apparently is Centennial and Northern Brewer. Flavor fairly explodes with hops unhindered by much malt contribution. Very nice balance, achieving rich hops flavor without the brasher hops aspects overpowering. Low carbo, moderate bitterness. Odd pale ale, but nice.

Golden yellow looked unfiltered unless it was chill haze. Some citrus aroma. Beer was relatively light on the palate. Hoppy and crisp. It was my favorite of their brews.

Pours unsettlingly pale gold with no real head. Odd. Aroma is grassy, nearly salty, with pale grains. Palate is light, and mildly dry on the finish. Flavor starts grassy – and I began expecting nothing much out of this beer – but that, wham! Lychee-green strawberry flavors come striding onto the palate through the heart of this beer. Where are these flavors coming from? Why are they here? I don’t know, but it sure made for a memorable drinking experience. Then, just as soon as they came, this beer returns to the ordinary with a straw-and-grass bitter finish. But my, the unexpected!

On tap. Pours with a white ring and a golden body. Decent lace. Aroma of citrus and light pine. Taste is citrusy with medium to high carbonation. Fizzy really. Not amazing, but a basic pale.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Aggie80 (741) - Michigan, USA - FEB 15, 2010
Standard light yellow color, not real head or lacing noticed. Slightly hoppy and is a pretty standard pale ale, nothing particularly stood out on this one.
