Cask conditioned and handpulled at Wetherspoons (JDW) Paradise Square, Birmingham. Well balanced bitter, clear brown with rocky head, lingering fruitiness and decent bitter bite.

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2004] A hazy brown beer with a light brown head. The aroma is powerful dominated by yeast. The flavor is also powerful with strong notes of yeast, but also caramel and roasted malt, leading to a very bitter end.

Cask at the Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough. Amber coloured, decent white head. Bit of toffee in the aroma. Malty flavours dominate with some hops. Thin. Not a very well balanced beer.

Melton Mowbray Fest 04. Copper and amber in colour. Aromas are berry fruit, spice and toffee. Flavours are fruity toffee malts with a really pretty dry, hoppy finish. Simple, but moreish.

[Cask conditioned] Quite boring. There seems to be some kind of unbalance between the sweetness and the bitterness.

Cask Conditioned at Harbury Beer Festival. Amber orange beer, no head quite flat. Toffee malts predominate a little sour, moderate hoppiness though boiled rather than fresh.

Cask, GBBF2003. Amber, slight haze low head and condition. Caramel aromas, quite sweet in the mouth with mote caramel and a slightly aged flavour. Short malty finish.

Cask, GBBF. Amber color. Slight hoparoma. Thin, but with a good deal of hopbitterness. Dry oaky mouthfeel. Fairly long hopbitter finish.
