Cask; Regular.

Built on the foundations of a classic Mild Ale recipe this dark beer has a smooth character. A welcoming flow of full bodied flavours is followed by a pleasant rounded finish derived from a delicate balance of malt and hops.

Cask. Strong nose of caramel, hint of molasses, mahogany, red at the sides, pours a tiny toffee head. Flavour is a fine roasted malt, treacle, perhaps a touch of burdock? Light bodied, very well balanced, quite complex for a Mild, bitter, though softly sweet. Wonderfully unique!

Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Really good depth of flavour on this Mild. Crunchy charcoal roast. Smooooth.

Cask at The Jolly Brewer, Stamford, Linc’s on a night out with Loz, Nigel (Hopshackle) and the Rev 28-01-10 Pours dark brown, almost black with white creamy head (looks a bit like Guinness) slight nuttiness on nose, some roasty notes and nuts again in mouth along with caramel, in good nick, well served but just a touch on cold side getting better and showing more as it warms. Pleasant. A6 A5 F7 P3 Ov13 3.4

UPDATED: APR 11, 2010 Cask conditioned handpump The Pub Leicester A black beer with a loose whitish head. The aroma is thin but there is a hint of caramel. The taste has some licorice and is sweet. Very mild and nicely drinkable. Score 3.1

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2009 Cask gravity, Nottingham 09 (this version 3.4%=20p cashback again- BONUS POINT). Burgundy with ruby flashes and a filthy if fleeting tan rim. Aroma is shrubby Germanic hop and honey; unusual for a mild but I’m not complaining. Rich Tea thinly knifed with Nutella and may I roast in hell if I’m lying, but there is distinct note of FRESH coriander/rocket there+soapy bitterness. Afters nutty and herbal, some berries trying to make themselves felt. Thinnish and uncreamy. Odd, untypical mild with no sweet or roasted character. I like it.

Cask at peterborough beer fest 2009. Alround rating: Roasted dark malt, bit of caramel hops are grassy. Fairly average stuff.

Cask conditioned at The Oak, Warwick. Dark chestnut with white head. Instantly nutty, dry for a mild with a lingering bitterness, plenty of flavour with dark roasted malts and the roasted hazelnut type flavour. Easy drinking, quite pleasant.
