Dec 31, 2008 Handpulled cask at the Malt Shovel. Northampton. Black with a good creamy beige unsparkled head. Dry in flavour without much malt profile. Smooth and easy drinking. knocking spots off most keg stouts.

Oct 1, 2007 A Sim rate (cask at St Albans BF): Tastes like celery salt. Very savoury and oily. Slight roasty flavour with a very bitter finish. Very bland aroma. What I can smell is nice - fruit, malt.... But not much and you have to struggle to smell it. Watery palate.

Sep 18, 2007 Cask, Melton Fest 07. Almost black with a small head. Aromas are mellow berries with chocolate and ligtht, earthy roast malts. Flavours are earthy coffee with caramel and toffee. Smoky with mollasses. Tastes dark. Decent.
