Ungstrup (11930), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 26, 2005 [Cask at GBBF 2004] An orange beer with no head. The aroma is very light, what is there is of hops and caramel. The flavor is sweet with lots of caramel making it sticky in the mouth. Too sweet for me. harrisoni (5605), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 5, 2005 Cask at GBBF 2005
Golden. Interesting hop nose with honey? Sweetness in mouth but then a good hoppy finish. Not that great. chriso (4434), London, Greater London, England Dec 8, 2005 Cask (gravity dispense), GBBF, August 2005. Yet another in the seemingly interminable procession of golden ales, with nothing really to lift it out from the ordinary. Not a lot of aroma. Soft fruit and tangy hops on the palate. Dry and reasonably bitter. More earthy than aromatic. Not much US or German influence here. OK, just hard to get excited about.
tiggmtl (4200), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 14, 2005 Mild herbal hops and fruity esters in the nose. Clear copper coloured body with low, white, fully diminishing head. Fruity, lightly buttery flavour has some citrus character and a lightly bitter finish. Medium-light body is somewhat slick with fairly low carbonation. Cask at GBBF 2005. leaparsons (4180), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Mar 25, 2004 Tan coloured with a small bubbly head. Aromas are floral hops, spices and smooth caramel. Flavours are sweet caramel and buttery malts, then salty and finally floral and bitter. Quite a tour of hop varieties. Decent.
