COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - Summer. Also available bottle conditioned.
Like the peacocks that roam the gounds of Belvoir Castle. A glorious strutting display. This full bodied light coloured premium beer has a generous helping of several varieties of English cone hops.

Mild herbal hops and fruity esters in the nose. Clear copper coloured body with low, white, fully diminishing head. Fruity, lightly buttery flavour has some citrus character and a lightly bitter finish. Medium-light body is somewhat slick with fairly low carbonation. Cask at GBBF 2005.

Bottle that I picked up from the Belvoir Brewpub, Old Dalby, Rutland/Leics 23-01-09 consumed 28-01-09 Pours amber with a sligh haze, like the Hopshackle before this is probably a chill haze as my utility room is very cool. Wonderfully hoppy and sweet citrus notes coming off of this, even a slightly rustic aroma. The sweet hoppy flavours leach around the mouth yum. This is wonderfully refreshing with a good bittersweet tanginess, lovely beer, finishes with a lingering bitterness and a splash of jiffy lemon. A7 A3 F8 P4 OV15 3.7

Bottled. This is pleasant but unremarkable, a fairly standard English golden ale. I wouldn’t seek it out again, but there’s nothing wrong with it.

Cask Stillage at the GBBF, Kensington Olympia 05/08/2005 Golden coloured and hoppy with some spicy flavours. Slight dryness in a lasting malt finish.

Cask (gravity dispense), GBBF, August 2005. Yet another in the seemingly interminable procession of golden ales, with nothing really to lift it out from the ordinary. Not a lot of aroma. Soft fruit and tangy hops on the palate. Dry and reasonably bitter. More earthy than aromatic. Not much US or German influence here. OK, just hard to get excited about.

Cask (GBBF): Mild sweet fruity aroma. Gold in colour. Sweet caramel with almost a touch of berries. Medium bodied, drinkable bitter.

On tap at GBBF 05. To the uninitiated, I can assure you that this is pronounced "beaver". Trust me on this. Darkish gold, but no head. Reasonable tart aroma. Fairly tart taste too, with a nice-ish hop feel in the mouth. Falls away into nondescript sourness on the finish, but otherwise pretty OK.

Cask conditioned - handpump - GBBF 2005. A clean golden coloured beer with an aroma featuring some background hop and a little maltiness. The taste was also reasonably well balanced but again a bit stale.

Cask at GBBF 2005 Golden. Interesting hop nose with honey? Sweetness in mouth but then a good hoppy finish. Not that great.

Half pint pulled at the Great British Beer Festival, a clear amber colour with very little head. Aroma is a nice blend of flowery hops. Was a bit soapy a first, but got better through the glass as the bitterness came through more.
