COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Formerly known as Belvoir Mild Ale.
Built on the foundations of a classic Mild Ale recipe this dark beer has a smooth character. A welcoming flow of full bodied flavours is followed by a pleasant rounded finish derived from a delicate balance of malt and hops.

Cask, Leicester Fest ’08 (Thurs afternoon session). Rubyish with tan lid. Biscuit, body, chocolate and vanilla, with almost citrussy hop reinforcement. Slick, sturdy mild.

Cask/gravity at Battersea BF. Black-red with no head and not much condition, nose has some coffee and a little port, body is dry, roasty, a dried fruitcake tang, some hops, dry bitter finish. Quite quaffable.

Cask at the Battersea Beer Festival, 12th Feb 2010. Slightly reddish dark brown with little head. Very soft palate. Light yet velvety. Sweet. Caramel & burnt sugar nose. Dry and roasty in the mouth. Not cloying or sticky. Falls between two stools a bit: Not full-on dry, but too bitter a finish for the sweet-toothed.

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2009 Cask (gravity dispense) at Battersea Beer Festival 2006 as Belvoir Mild Ale. A reddish coloured mild with a rather ashy, toasty malt aroma. Fairly dry with chalky, powdery mouthfeel. Hints of licorice and a slightly sour edge on the finish. A drinkable mild, if a touch more bitter than I’d expect.

a sim rate: (on tap at Battersea Beer Festival) Glorious red/black color, but no head whatsoever. Flat, but with distinct slightly sour flavour of off milk. Smells exactly like blue cheese.

Half pint gravity fed at the Battersea Beer Fest, colour a deep ruby/brown and a slight chocolate malty aroma. Very smooth and easy to drink - an enjoyable malty taste.

Cask gravity at Battersea Beer Festival 2006. Very deep ruby colour with bubbly beige head. Quite a hoppy/herby nose, not what you’d expect from a mild at all. Some mild flavt malt in mouth, then more herb and some powdery charcoal. Fairly low on flavour and a drying finish. Its a mild and it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Cask Handpump at the Ship & Mitre, Liverpool 14/05/2003 Dark red mild which poured lively. Hoppy with a little bitterness in a lasting roast malt finish.

[Cask at GBBF 2004] A red-brown beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and licorice. The flavor contains hints of roasted malt and licorice on a sour background - the sourness stems from the lack of residual suger. The end is quite bitter.

Cask@Leicester Beer Festival. Plain looking mild with a light coffee aroma and a very dry and bitter flavour. Overall a good complex tasting mild.
