Bottle, 25cl - Clear orange copper beer with a small white head. Aroma is sweet malty with notes of honey, rooibos, alcohol and dates. Flavor is very sweet with notes of prunes, hay, nuts, honey and raisins. Not really balanced but an interesting dessert beer.

Ambré, with small off white mousse. Aroma is hot, peppery and sweet malty. Taste is round, sweet, alcoholic and hot. an out of balance alcoholic beer.

Bottle at The Penguin Beer Bobbing/13 Beers of Halloween tasting. Dazzling yellow with a lacing white halo. Pretty nasty cherry palinka, almond, grass and brandy aroma. Sweet but not excessively so; slight petrol, almond, honey, metal and white flour. Grassy hops surprisingly intact. Actually pretty mellow at the ABV: none of my guests guessed it to be more than 9%. Amateurs. Sink got none, but finishing a bottle on my own would be a struggle.

Golden.amber body with a small delicious lacing white head. Sweet liqueric malt aroma with fruitiness by raisins and apricot. I feel some almond in the nose with some interesting spicy aroma of vanilla and candy. Oily texture with sweet and liqueric flavor of malt, some caramel and honey, minimal bitterness and the freaky malt..

Clear golden honey color with a fluffy cream colored head. Aroma is faint but floral, with some malt and hops, and honey. Flavor is extraordinarily sweet, and I suspect a lot of people will have a problem with that. I however, have a sweet tooth, and this beer satisfies. Flavor is predominately honey and caramel. Smooth finish. Not bad, but I was expecting something more special.

Bottle. High fluffy and long lasting white head leaving nice long lacings. Slightly hazy amber body. Alcohol dominated aroma with barley malt and caramel. The rice added sweetens the flavor and makes is less alcohol tasting. Unfortunately it also makes the beer a good deal more boring and only tasting of mild barley malt and caramel as the hops contents appear to be low. Low carbonation, short aftertaste.

In mythology, Belzebuth is a demon or devil. A being of nefarious and diabolical origins, Belzebuth is not usually acknowledged as the Devil himself; just one of his more powerful minions. In France, Belzebuth has risen, taking the most ominous form of a strong golden ale and sporting an imposing 13% ABV. For most, that alone is more than enough to scare away those of a lesser constitution. I am not one of those of a lesser constitution; I am up to the challenge. Belzebuth in all his golden fiery glory does not frighten me. In fact, he has captured my attentions and desires as I leap into his embrace before and after looking.

Deep golden orange covered in a dirty hay haze while a small head features scattered bubbles and melting trails of off-white lace. As I aggravate his person, he fumes and foams, leaving a thick layer of white foam and releasing an aromatic assault of sinister proportions. Sweet, spiced, and hot with alcohol warmth, spiced candied apples, apricots, and cinnamon sticks are dipped in warm marmalade. As his fruity assault continues with orange skins and mango, he exits with dry wood, bark, and a wisp of cedar. Herbs perfume my breath with parsley, cilantro, and fresh mint leaves. Pervading his nose is sweetly spiced alcohol warmth. Descending into his fiery home, I drink deep of his chalice brimming with golden nectar. Lip-smacking delicious. He is sticky and sweet with honey, orange, apricot, and marmalade exuding warm spices, dry wood, and a lingering alcohol heat that hits in the back of his palate, warming my being. A few more quaffs deeper and his palate is a pleasant repeat of all the above while my breath continues to show a lingering herbal presence which tickles the back of my throat. Tasty. Licking my lips, wet and sticky with spiced cooked fruits, he finishes with comforting warmth. Maybe this Belzebuth guy really isn’t all that bad; he certainly has it made when it comes to a tasty Belgian-style Strong Ale. He may be 13% ABV, but at only 8.4ozs per bottle, I’m feeling up to another round.

Many are turned off by the fact that Belzebuth is only available in a 3pack at a fairly high price, considering price per quantity. Fear the price not and the beer even less; grab your Belzebuth next time he storms around the corner and lets loose a roar to catch your attention.
