Been far too scared to drink this one, it has sat in my fridge for a couple years. Pours an orange-yellow with a big frothy white foam, some sticky lacing. Aroma is alcohol, metallic, oxidized, caramel. Taste is fruitier, some esters, light fruit, pear, pretty smooth. Odd duck, actually enjoyed it once I stopped smelling it.

Dark golden coloured beer, the head should be bigger for sure. Smell is alcohol, malts, hops. The taste is a bit metallic, with the alcohol getting trough in the end pretty good. Mostly sweet malts.

25 cl. bottle @ Kulminator: possibly aged but definitely the 13% version – bottle claims hilariously that this is the strongest beer in the world – A: clear golden with a small white head – sweet with syrup and honey as well as grains, Belgian yeast, fruits (incl. melon), slightly malty & flowers with booze in the aftertaste (rather slightly & not as booze ridden as others have said theirs were)– slightly grainy medium body and carbonation – the reviews on here as well as the score are harsh hut honestly I rather liked this one

Bottle at the International beer bar in Barcelona. Yeast-driven beer. Aromas of butter, with hints of caramel, and also band-aid. Taste starts sweet and sour, with bitterness taking over for a long finish. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Dark yellow, with a frothy head.

Bouteille 25 cl offerte par Mu. Ambrée à mousse crémeuse et pétillement actif. Nez doux, sucré, malt, caramel-sirop, fruits secs, abricot. La bouche est aussi très douce, sirupeuse, intensément maltée, onctueuse avec des notes de fruits mûrs, abricot, banane, figue. Un peu brûlante mais pas si mal. D’ailleurs, elle résiste au temps.

Highly touted -by the the guy who sold it to me of course-, Belzebuth is another demonically named strong ale. The 8 style rating does not bode well for this. The high fructose aroma is reminiscent of truly brutal malt liquors, but the taste is at least recognizable as Belgian style, but extremely sweet. Lots of fruit notes. The color is opaque and the shade of varnished plyboard. No head due to high proof. Lingers like a schnapps shoot on the palate. Mine was an 8.4 once bottle that looks exactly like what’s pictured, including the peeling upper label. Other offerings from the brewer are canned implying a Franco-Steel Reserve. All that being said I really enjoyed the experience of imbibing this. Stupid-strength beers can be good, within reason

Appearance: clear deep honeyed gold, with a one-finger bright white head that lingered for the whole glass. Aroma: honey smacks, corn syrup, hint of passion fruit, and BOOZE. Taste: super sweet and syrupy, with notes of cereal and booze and melon. Finish: doughy, sweet, with lingering booze and an alcohol belly warmth. Notes: Clearly a gimmick beer, but it was surprisingly not the worst thing ever. Relatively drinkable, and the alcohol wasn’t TOO strong.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Oren. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of alcohol, chemicals and some fruits. Sweet and very alcoholic flavor. Somewhat syrupy body. Undrinkable.

Much too sweet for my taste, though it masks the high alcohol content. Tastes like there was corn syrup added. Sampled with Olivier and David at De Paas in the Hague, Oct, 2011.
