(bottle; 0,25 l, 13% ABV, BB Sept. 2006) Clear copper colour with a small creamy layer. Strong sweet malty aroma with alcohol and a shy fruity tinge. Very sweet flavour, medium to full body, moderate carbonation. Sweet malty taste; alcoholic and syrupy sweet finish. Too sweet and too strong ( & obviously too alcoholic) for my kind of taste.

Orangey golden body with a compact white head. Sweet nose, mainly malt with some citrus notes. Give me another Belgian Strong Ale, before this one at least, mainly alcohol driven taste that is smooth, a little sugary, orange and a touch of grains. Somehow, I don’t know why, but I was expecting a lot more out of this beer. This reminds me of a European Strong Lager moreso than what it is.

Dirty yellow, small head that reduces quickly. Grainy aroma with noticable alcohol. Sweet malt, some citrus notes maybe, but mostly just sweet and alcoholic. The alcohol isn’t harsh, but is poorly integrated into a palate that doesn’t offer a lot of character. I wasn’t very imprssed.

Bottle. Clear, amber color, with small off-white head. Oops! I accidentally smelled it! Smells like caramel, grain, and fruit, but mixed in a way that isn’t good. Flavor is similar. Grainy, alcohol aftertaste, not too strong. I have never had scotch, so I don’t really know what it tastes like. Wow, I just ate a piece of chocolate and the citrus in the beer really comes out to save it. I have actually never noticed a change like this. To sum up, not that good, except with dark chocolate, then tolerable.

275ml bottle at 13%. Copper colour with very thin white head. quite a good aroma with some whisky and candied orange peel. Not overly sweet as I had feared it would be. Some tang on the finish and some drying alcohol burn. Really pretty good

Boy this was a bad scene. I bought this for its super APV content, but the price almost killed me, 12 bucks for 3 8 oz bottles!! worst thing was, i drank two sips and almost yaked! absolutley no beer flavor at all, tasted like pure scotch!!! Im not a liquore guy, so this was undrinkable for me. i almost cried, as for one i hate to waste a beer, and two, i was pouring ten bucks or so down the drain! i like buying weire brews, and i basically bought this one cause it had a devil on the bottle! my bad.

Bottle. Still proudly touts its 13% abv garishly despite this commercial description. Looks amber and very carbonated and with some yeast floating around in it. Smells..very malty, slightly fruity like a strong ale. Tastes sweet, malty, then grainy. then..a bad taste, like the can that creamed corn has been stored in. I’ll be drinking it reluctantly and not looking for it again. the taste seems to be based around the large neon 13% sign on the label. I personally think that’s a little retarded. update: I managed to finish the glass and it got less oppressive as I got used to drinking it and the beer warmed. Still, nothing I’ll be buying again.

Golden orange color, decent sized short lived head. Aroma was a similar to orange cough syrup with mild alcohol/watery cognac. Nice mouthfeel tho a little thin. A good sipper after shovling snow. I’ll buy more for cold winter nights with a good book.
