The aroma is very malty and full of alcohol and yeast. The appearance is what I expected from the style and it does have nice lacing. The flavor is fruity, sweet, malty, full of alcohol, and it has a hint of maple syrup. The palate is smooth and the aftertaste is malty and sweet. Overall its very good.

Sampled at Palmer Place, LaGrange, IL. Very unpleasant in several ways: The alcohol presence was, shall we say, lacking in subtlety. Actually the fumes made me jerk away from the glass. The cloying sweetness was just awful, even in small leisurely sips. Never again! Rerate: First impression was, "What’s with all the floculate? My glass was loaded with white yeasties...some as big as a raisin. But my second tasting was that this might be my favorite French beer. i know that might be considered damning with faint praise. But the flavors of caramel, toffee, honey, and, yes, YEAST!!! was very well intermingled. I would probably bump this up to around a "3" or so.

Bottle. Pours a golden color, clear, some stringy looking floaties that don’t really look appetizing. Fair sized, dense, white head. Good lacing is left behind. Aroma is a bit funky, not really as boozy as I would have expected from some previous ratings. Lightly fruity perhaps. Fuller bodied and coating on the palate. Sweet with lots of residual sugar remaining. Alcohol is there but not really dominating. Really rather drab.

Deep golden color, fluffy of white foam. This beer has a warm flowery smell and toches of white bread and herbs. Taste is overpowered by the alcohol, it is smooth, flowery bitter and has hints of butter and herbs. The finish turns alcoholic bitter.

It’s so strong you can smell the alcohol along with candy-like sweetness. Hazy tan body with little head. You can taste the alcohol too and it is very sweet with almost no bitterness. Some spices in the aftertaste. Very low carbonation. Syrupy. Alcohol burns. Bottle. Entered from notes.

Yellowish green, white head/lacing. The nose is rich on malt and alcohol, some light yeast and spicy citrus character. The flavor is yeasty, alcohol is a bit strong but it’s good and strange.

Clear golden color with some head and lacing. Spicy nose. Spice and honey throughout the flavor. Lots of alcohol noted. Very warming. A little much for me.
