Pours very little head. Dark golden. Very carbonated looking. Malty alcoholly aroma. Pronounced sweetness in the flavor, with alcohol too, followed by hop bitterness in the aftertaste that includes warming in the throat. Not heavy warming like if you were drinking scotch or whiskey, but enough that you notice it. The warmer the beer gets the more alcohol is in the taste. Had been looking at this beer on the shelf for quite some time. Finally tried it only because it was Halloween. Not something I’ll drink on a regular basis. Haven’t found a French beer that I’ve cared for as of yet.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 JDBaker11058 (677) - Maryland, USA - NOV 11, 2011
Appearance: clear deep honeyed gold, with a one-finger bright white head that lingered for the whole glass. Aroma: honey smacks, corn syrup, hint of passion fruit, and BOOZE. Taste: super sweet and syrupy, with notes of cereal and booze and melon. Finish: doughy, sweet, with lingering booze and an alcohol belly warmth. Notes: Clearly a gimmick beer, but it was surprisingly not the worst thing ever. Relatively drinkable, and the alcohol wasn’t TOO strong.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 GermanBrews76 (671) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 1, 2004
crystal clear golden body, foamy white head. Saltyt nose with some corn, dry stale malts and alcohol. initially smooth and sweet, follows with an intensely warm alcohol dominated finish. WOW, warm and strong, and real dry. some sweetness and caramel emerge later on. impressively... not well balanced!
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20 BigBastard (668) - L.A., California, USA - FEB 12, 2004
15% version. I must admit, at the time I bought this, it was the highest ABV beer I'd had, that was my motivation. I was assulted by the rubbing alcohol aroma right off the bat. It went downhill from there. Tasted of rotting fruit, alcohol, grapes, prunes, cough syrup. I split a bottle with a friend, but just barely. I wouldn't have finished it on my own. This was a couple years ago, so I may try it again to see how it fares now.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 gracefullypunk (667) - Oregon, USA - JUL 12, 2010
Bottle at Seattle International Beer Fest. Pours golden with a quickly fading head. Bubblegum, clove and sugar in the smell. Taste is primarily alcohol, with banana and sugar as well.
2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 jmuhops (666) - Winchester, Virginia, USA - FEB 21, 2006
Pours light amber with a small head. Malty, alcoholic aroma, that is strangely similar to that of a Baltika Malt Liquor I once had. Sickeningly sweet flavor, with a huge alcohol presence. Tastes like a hard candy your alcoholic grandpa had been soaking in home-distilled liquor for a couple weeks. This is ugly.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 buckybeer (666) - Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 24, 2006
Pours a medium gold with small white head. Soem nice sticky lacing also. Aroma is spicy malt. I thought the alcohol was masked very well. You can taste it but it doesn’t slap you in the face. Flavor is sweet malts and a little spice. I would not want to drink it but maybe once every couple of months. Seems like it would be a nice chilly weather brew.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Drink4Satan (666) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - NOV 25, 2007
This is a very malty, very sugary, very boozey full-bodied blonde that warms the throat, but leaves the palate wanting more, or should a say less (malty sweetness and booze mostly). The nose is spicy and citrusy, with orange zest and corriander. The flavour is extremely malty and sweet, making it easy to take in all the alcohol, that is actually pretty well hidden, which is definitely not suggested by the nose. It lacks complexity and balance, but considering the abv, it is dangerously drinkable. Medium bodied, creamy texture and tingly carbonation make the palate the best part of this brew.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 TrefwoordPunk (660) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - DEC 3, 2007
UPDATED: JAN 20, 2008 Bottle 33 cl. Pours a reddish golden with a small white head and alcohol, yeast and ripe fruits on the nose. Taste is very alcoholic, but also sweet with lots of fruits and some brown sugar. Finish is also very alcohol and biting, I tend to like high-alcohols, but I don’t like this one that much

Alcohol comes through in the aroma. Not very balanced, but what do you expect.
