4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 TheBeerGod (4127) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - DEC 27, 2002
Wow! This one packs a punch. Surprisingly it is not overwhelming considering the 15% alcohol content. Blondish brown and somewhat transparent in color and appearance. Not as malty as I was lead to believe. Strong alcohol odor and taste. There’s a slight floral and bubblegum or cotton candy taste within and underlying the finish. Wonderful beer definitely worth seeking out.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 thedm (4124) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JUN 29, 2003
This brew pours a small head of quickly diminishing small fizzy bubbles. It had a light orange brown color. The aroma contained notes of malt, hops and a discernable alcohol content of medium strength. It had a stong alcohol flavor that was very over powering the other flavors. It was smooth yet burned as it went down. Truely a devilish brew!
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 badgerben (4116) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - NOV 26, 2004
UPDATED: MAY 29, 2008 Original Rating November 26, 2004: Dark amber color with no head. Moderate barley aroma. The taste... well, my notes say that one of the nastier Malt Liquors I’ve had tasted better so I think I’ve represed the actual taste of this. I recall a very sour alcoholic twang. Not a good choice. 6/3/2/2/6 Re-rate May 29, 2008: Gold color with no head. Massive alcohol aroma and taste. Powerfully sweet and candied malt. Very sugary. It’s like an alcopop cocktail with a kick.

13% abv 25 cl bottle with a 7-28-2005 drink by date. Clear amber with a thin but persistent head. Strong pit fruit and spicy yeast aroma. Syrupy smooth mouthfeel. Malt driven flavors of apples plums pears with a mouth puckering alcohol sting to finish. Not that bad. 3127
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 PorterPounder (4105) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 6, 2002
15% version. Aroma - bubble gum/alcohol. Appearance - like a snifter of brandy. Flavor - More akin to bourbon than an ale - although it did have a slight barley wine taste to it. Palate - Definitely not for the feint of heart. Gives that same burning in the pit of the stomach that shots of bourbon does.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 5000 (4104) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - OCT 31, 2004
Bottle #666 (On Halloween no less) pours a fairly clear pale golden, medium foamy white head, lively carbonation, with spotty lacing. Fairly strong grainy aroma, along witih alcohol. Slightly grainy on first sip, but amazingly smooth for 13%. Fairly malty as well. Good body, slightly syrupy mouthfeel. Finishes sweet, corn syrup sweet, with some malts and a touch of alcohol. Nothing amazing or complex, but for 13% it seems rather palatable.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 marcus (4050) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAY 4, 2011
Bottle from Arden BevMo. Pours clear golden with a decent off-white head and a fruity aroma. There is a sticky sweet malt flavor with a severe alcohol finish. Too much sugar in this one.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 TomDecapolis (4007) - Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 12, 2006
13% alcohol printed right on the neck of the bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber with a small white head that left spotty lacing. Aroma of grains. As if you walked into a feed store, or better yet if you were in an Amish mans barn (trust me I was in one the other week). Maybe also some caramel malt. Flavor of caramel, yet overall just a watery sweetness.
