Im sure this was the 13% vertion. Aroma is seriously alcoholic, however toffee malts and some plums seem to hide it reasonably well. Taste is similarly storng a sweet but drinkable to nearly a dangerous level.

Bottle, 25cl. 13% ABV version. Very pretty label. Fully golden colour with a medium white almost yellow head, mostly diminishing. Aroma is quite good, with alcohol on top of everything (obviously), malt and spices. Unfortunately flavour isn’t as god as aroma. Very sweet with a strong alcohol presence, a little too much for me. A good beer, very strong and not for the weak of heart or stomach!

Aroma: somewhere between a Duvel & biere de garde. Coriander & pale lager. Fairly decent. Alcohol... Maizy sweetness... slightly metallic... Fudge, summery hops.
Appearance: mediocre golden with white head. Tyical lager appearance.
Flavour: Initial sweetness... some alcoholic/hoppy bitterness but mainly a cloying, belgiesque sweetness. Almost sourish in a biere de garde-way. Not too bad, but not very well balanced... dried fruits, candisugar, coconuttish.
Palate: Not too bad... quite smooth & foamy... decently carbonated, not too fizzy.

Small bottle poured a golden body with a healthy thick cream colored head. Apple and floral candy-caramel boozy almond nose. Mild elderflower berry flavors. Hot, harsh, warming, faintly cloying finish. Not so quaffable.

.25L bottle - Shared this one w/ SkyCop32. Picked up at Maruhn Getränke in Darmstadt. Pours a pale hazy golden yellow color. Aromas of yeast, some fruit and spice. Taste is yeasty and medicinal, can really taste the alcohol in this one.

13% alcohol. You just know that this one isn’t going to be a relaxing sipper. Floral, alcohol aroma. Carmel and malts almost match the taste of alcohol. Now I know why the devil is laughing on the label. The French aren’t that bad afterall.

Aromikas olut. Ainakin 15% versio maistui viskiltä. Näin vomakas olut jota kannattaa juoda varoen. Viides olut sai 120 kiloisen miehen menettämään tasapainonsa.

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2006 (13% ABV version) Pours a deep orange with small white head. Very malty scent. Sweet, toffee malt character. Not as thick as you would expect with the high strength. Peppery alcohol touch which gives a nice wamrth the whole way through.

bottle from Auchan Ilkirch-Graffenstaden. Golden colour, large white head. Full-bodied, intensivly malty with some old/rotten fruit and ethanol. Shy hoppy touch. Not really my cup of tea, but quite nice for the strenth.
