Bottle. A French B-wine? Uhhh? Amber, minimal head. Very thick mouthfeel that seems to neutralize the perfumey aroma. Malty texture/flavor, some neutral fruits (pears, apples).

Strong taste with definite alcohol presence. Not a beer to start the evening with. Tastes like Grolsch Kanon.

Sweet nose that is pleasant and brandy-like – smells like a baked apple. Lovely gold colo. Vinous, brandy-like taste that recalls an Italian dessert wine (Vinsanto). Long profile that goes from 0 to 60 quickly. Full and round mouth feel, but light somehow. This is a sipping beer! The amount and type of bubbles leads me to believe that champagne yeast was used here, which would account for the high alcohol too. At first strange, then interesting, then good – this is a wonderful beverage!

A malt liquor on roids. A golden orange color with a fluffy head which avaporates fairly quickly (the alcohol trying to get free). Pure malt and alcohol aroma. Candy and peppery alcohol flavors with a dry finish. Definately one for a night.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2003 A beautiful color for a beer with a very rich flavor behind the wall of alcohol. A great drink.

Jeanne d’Arc 15% - Poured copper/brown with little head. Tastes of sweet malt and syrup/molasses. Much more flavors become apparent as the ale warms. The sweet flavors gives ways and the alcohol is more prevalent. Almost reminds me of a smooth whiskey.

Poured a bit lighter than I anticipated. The head lingered for only a moment before leaving a fine white lace. Sweet, and slightly oily in the mouth with a slight alcohol and pepper burn. I tasted a little fruit, bananas maybe.....or plums. A little more burn on the end, but VERY tasty. Two was enough for me at one sitting.
