Bottle dated 2008 - pours murky brown color - this looks as though it came from the swamps of Louisiana. No head to speak of. Aroma is light, but had some caramel malts, booze, light fruits and a general sweetness - nothing great, but nothing offensive either. Flavor is actually quite smooth - some years have mellowed this one out greatly I have to assume - caramel, vanilla, malt, candy - very sweet overall. Palate is slightly slick, and very boozy still. I opened this one up expecting the worst, and came away greatly surprised. Quite easy to drink, smooth and far from being ’offensive’.

Son seul intérêt "commercial" est son taux d’alcool de 13° sur une bière. L’alcool trop prend le dessus.

Bottle from Mam and Dad’s holiday France and Lloret de Mar. Bright golden coloured with a thin white head. It has a tart spicy pineapple and toffee flavour with a citrus and spicy finish. Hides the super strong alcohol very well.

Mild bread and citrus aroma. Burnt golden hazy body. Topped with a thin white head. Sweet smooth bread taste. Warms the palate just a little going down is the only hint of the strength of this brew. Clean sweet finish.

From a bottle brought back from Oregon. Pours a clear straw color. Nose is bready, maybe a touch malty. The 13% alcohol is well hidden, but this is just an okay beer.

Bottle, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
This bottle is dated September 28 2009. I don’t know if that’s a best by or a bottled on date, don’t remember really when I got this, suffice to say I’ve had it for a while. I’m leaning towards this being six years old as opposed to 11.

Pours a deep orange color (despite the ’blond’ designation on the label). The beer has a small but well retained head that leaves a decent lacing on the glass.

Honestly, this doesn’t smell bad, or at least it’s exceeded any expectations I had for it. Yes, it has some light wet cardboard and sherry like oxidive notes, so we’ll get that out of the way straight off. Beyond that it has a reasonably enjoyable toffee and cherry liqueur character. It’s got some red apple & some mild honey notes. The alcohol is reasonably muted for a beer of this strength.

The flavor is pretty darn sweet and boozy. It’s got the classic toffee on cherry cordial thing happening, but it’s also got cotton candy, pear, and some light toasty malt. It’s hard to get over the bit alcohol presence here, it’s intruding well beyond a pleasant warming affect and it seems to be the primary flavor lingering in the finish.

Better than I expected it to be, age seems to have done this fairly well.

The smell is minimal, bubblegum, banana, butterscotch, apple peel, alcohol. The taste is actually alright, there is some alcohol of course but also sweet corn, sugary, and some complexity. Average look, slight head that disappears, orangish in color, no lacing.

Bottled 250ml. -from www.beershop.hr Dark golden coloured, small white head, alcohol in the nose. Sweet malty, caramel and pretty sharp alcohol presence with also warming alcohol in the finish. One-dimensional boozy stuff. Few months out of BBE date but it doesn’t change much in general.

The strongest beer ever tasted . Drunk a few years ago , all that I can remember is the sweet alcohol aroma, taste and palate.

Birra dal sapore molto intenso e dolciastro. L?elevato tasso alcolico non si sente a primo impatto. Molto buona come accompagnamento per carni o verdure

Extremely sweet, which hides the enormous alcohol content well, but also makes it taste awful. Way, way too sweet.
