Poured a bit lighter than I anticipated. The head lingered for only a moment before leaving a fine white lace. Sweet, and slightly oily in the mouth with a slight alcohol and pepper burn. I tasted a little fruit, bananas maybe.....or plums. A little more burn on the end, but VERY tasty. Two was enough for me at one sitting.

Attractive dark amber, clear with foamy off-white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is caramel, orange, cereal and alcohol heat. For the first couple of sips, I wondered who needs a blond ale this strong. But then it hit me, or maybe the 13 percent ABV did (down from Jeanne D’Arc). Really extensive flavor range as it warms, with nuts and grass joining the fruit and sweet malt. A little rough, but it opens up given time, and proves strong ale doesn’t need to be dark. I’m pleasantly surprised.

Bottled. A clear orange beer with a medium slowly desappearing white head. Aroma is malty, caramel and fruity. Taste is also malty caramel. Strong alcohol notes. A bit unbalanced for my taste

Alcohol, bread, caramel, malt. Orange copper with small white head. Alcohol and malt in the taste. Kinda one dimensional but balanced and smooth. Kinda like sipping on cognac.

Amber color, weak head. Aroma has alcohol but also bread and grains. Taste is sweet with a hint of bitterness. Alcohol comes quite strong in taste.

Drank out of the bottle. This is a very delicious Belgian Strong Ale. For a beer that is 13%, this is very good, worth a try.

So strong that is smells and tastes almost disgusting. Still, that has to be some kind of European beer good thing, right?

33cl bottle, many times in the early belgian years.
In short: boozy golden ale.
A boozy ale, some unbalanced, but a must in the years it was released, i guess around 1998.

A decent strong ale. Pours a clear orange with little head. Smells of tropical fruit. Taste is very boozy and malty, with a licorice finish. Had in the bottle.
