Bottle... Pours clear and nearly black with flickers of copper and a fleeting, khaki head. The aroma is roasty and chocolaty with an undercurrent of sour cherries. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and feather-soft carbonation. The flavor presents sweet milk chocolate and acidic, fruity, sour cherries. Lightly sweet, tangy finish. Pulls up just short of being a world class beer. Loads of potential here. Bottle courtesy of newcigarz!

this one had been aged by Bend and as a result was very very smooth, but also just a touch muddled. the tart cherry compliments the dark malts, though, and this was easily one of the best they had on.

On tap at Bend pub. Pours out a dark brown almost black with a small head. Nose light coffee some pit fruit cherries and a nice malt. Taste is as the nose with a good little cherry touch and a little roast malts.

Draft at The Bier Stein, Eugene. Pours a medium-dark brown, decent amount of tan head. Aroma slightly roasty, subtle. Body full and boozy, some hints of cherry, dark chocolate on finish. Meh.

Wowie, this is an awesome porter! Fairly certain it is a seasonal/limited release so if you see it around I would suggest snagging some if you’re a fan of the style. She pours a pretty dark brown with ruby hints and a thin tan head. Aroma and taste are about the same which is a great thing since they are both wicked. I have had porters and stouts with these or similar flavour combos and they end up being to sickly sweet and tasting pretty artificial. BBC does it night and subtlely without losing the promised flavours. No cough-syrup cherry business here! Smooth and slick liquid best slurped after it has been left at room temperature for awhile, I found it brought out more flavours. Dig it.

Draft at belmont. Gabf gold baby! Pours jet black with a dense and creamy tan head. Big sweet cherry cordial nose, lots of sweet cherries and chocolate on the nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Swirly sweet milk chocolate and cherry mid palate with a long sweet finish. Harmonious and balanced.

On draught at bend brewing- pours pitch black with little head. Nose of milk chocolate and cherry. Taste is of intense cherry with creamy hot chocolate. Perfect dessert beer in the fall or winter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draught at Bend Brewing Co. Deep amber brown color. Aroma of milk chocolate, roasting, and sweet cherry. Taste is definitely like a cherry cordial chocolate. Sweet dessert beer finish.

Picked up a bottle at Belmont in December 2012, drank a week ago. Pours big and bold, black as night with a slight reddish hue. Not much of a head. Smells of soured cherrys and bits of burnt malts. Flavor is heavy, thick, and full of dark roasted malts, but sweetened sourly with odd chocolates and sour cherries. Thick!

I thought there was too much going on in the beer. It had a few off flavors. Good color.
