AxeMaster221 (343), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 23, 2002 This seemed like more of an English Strong Ale than a Belgian. Poured a brown with a frothy head, that diminished fairly quickly. Malty, with a little alcohol present. Wish I knew the abv on this one. Decent but not really up to the best of the style.
anders37 (2992), Malmö, Sweden Dec 27, 2008 Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty fruity aroma with some hints of caramel and dark fruit. Malty dark fruit flavor with some hints of caramel. Has a slightly sweetish fruity malty finish with some hints of dark fruit in the aftertaste. carboloader (308), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 13, 2008 Sampled at the Bend pub. Pours maroon. small white head. Malty but otherwise pretty bland to me. Definitely does not taste like a Belgian strong ale to me. More like a strong brown ale. Angeloregon (2023), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 28, 2008 Sample at the source in Bend, OR--Poured a dark brown-amber body with a small creamy off-white head. Faint nutty, caramel, sweet toffee nose.
