Commercial Description:
Is a full, malty beer. The warming sensation of alcohol is evident, and sherry-like flavors are often present.

This seemed like more of an English Strong Ale than a Belgian. Poured a brown with a frothy head, that diminished fairly quickly. Malty, with a little alcohol present. Wish I knew the abv on this one. Decent but not really up to the best of the style.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty fruity aroma with some hints of caramel and dark fruit. Malty dark fruit flavor with some hints of caramel. Has a slightly sweetish fruity malty finish with some hints of dark fruit in the aftertaste.

Sampled at the Bend pub. Pours maroon. small white head. Malty but otherwise pretty bland to me. Definitely does not taste like a Belgian strong ale to me. More like a strong brown ale.

Sample at the source in Bend, OR--Poured a dark brown-amber body with a small creamy off-white head. Faint nutty, caramel, sweet toffee nose. Not very exciting, but not too bad.

1/1/08 At the BrewPub with Bikesandbeer after a day’s drive from Portland, Brewery 5 of the trip. Pours dark amber with a bright white ring. Nose is basically dead. Taste consists of sweet malts, low abv in the taste. Eh.

sampled @ brewpub - cloudy brown with very slight head; aroma is all malts with very slight hint of alcohol; texture is slightly creamy and just a little to bland
