Dark reddish brown, nearly black. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, hints of roast and coffee. Fairly sweet finish with a watery mouthfeel, medium bodied. Overall this came off as ’another’ porter and was one of the least interesting in the sample tray.

On tap at the brewery. Deep brown with a brown head. Aromas of roasted malt. Some chocolate on the palate but a thin-medium mouthfeel led to a quick fall-off of the flavor.

Draught at the brewpub. Dark ruby color. Toasty and roasty malt in the aroma with some fruity yeast touches. Chocolate and toasty malt flavors. Sweet overall with low hops. Remains fairly drinkable though. Medium body and smooth texture.

On tap at the Bend pub. Oh yeah, Baby. Pours opaque with medium sized frothy tan head. Nice roasty, malty flavor with coffee notes. Creamy mouth feel. Piney hops kick in for a smooth bitter finish. Yum. I should drink more porters.

1/1/08 At the BrewPub with Bikesandbeer after a day’s drive from Portland, Brewery 5 of the trip. Black pour with an off white ring. Not much of a nose. Had this side by side with the vanilla porter. This one turns out to be a nice light porter.

sampled @ brewpub - thin dark brown with slight tan head around the edges; thick aroma mix of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate; creamy texture with lots of chocolate and coffee coming out in the flavors; drinks very smooth and slightly dry; a very nice robust porter

Sampled a pint of this one on draught at the brewpub in Bend, OR. This beer pours to a deep brown to black color, with a thick, white head, and a moderate carbonation. The nose is very nice on this beer, with good aromas of chocolate malts, coffee, light roast, and piney hops. The palate is soft, with good dark chocolate and coffee flavors, with light estery notes of currants, and light roast. This beer finishes with good dark chocolate and coffee flavors, then end roasty, with a piney hop bite that lingers on the tongue. Nice, easy drinking, social pint of porter. Good beer to relax with at the bar, and a nice beer to match with the pub grub on the menu.
