Smoth malty, hop aroma. Deep amber in color. Sweet, hoppy and malty. I forget where I tried this one.

Tap @ The BeerMongers Anniversary Fest... Poured red with a pillowy white head. Pine and resinous hops on the nose. Flavor not as hoppy as the nose with some toffee, caramel malt and tiny hop bitterness.

From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center Denver 16/09/2010 Big hop aroma. Bronze red coloured hoppy and fruity with a pine flavour. A hint of dryness in a bitter malt finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy redish mahogany, with a thick dense creamy light tan head . Light toastedmalts with some citrusy hops on the nose. Big hoppy bite with some spicy cinnoman also. Quite bitter and sharp bu lost of residual sweetness as well. Expected it to be a bit dryer. Quit malty, full bodied. The lingering bitter bite is strong but nice. Strong, but not boost, and would not have guessed as high as 9%. Big brash but good.

Draught @ Bend Brewing:   Burnt caramel, deep red hues, moderate off-white head, nice lacing.   Citrusy nose, slight pine, sweet.   Bright citrus peel on the tongue, sweet, hop bite on the backside.   Tastes pretty good.   Assertive, flavorful, good malt base.   This is my idea of an Imperial Red.   Well balanced.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Smooth exit.   Lingering citrus peel, slightly sweetened, hops, and a pale caramel malt like flavor.   I really enjoyed this one.

First Rating, on tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours a deep red/chestnut with fluffy off-white head. Pretty standard strong red ale. Caramel malt, bread, fruit, floral hops, and hints of nuts. Bitter finish, very slightly metallic. Well made and enjoyable.
