Stereotypical Weizen brewed by Licher for Klosterbrauerei Ettal. Rocky, sticky, off-white head, cloudy orange blonde colour. Aroma of banana, peach, cloves, soap, honey, field flowers, vanilla. Soft and rounded palate, fruity with a relatively sharp tingling carbonation, mellow maltiness, lots of wheat taste but finishing more barley-like and yeasty, sweetish with a soapy and grassy hop touch. Okay and very thirst-quenching, delivers what it has to deliver for its style.

Bottiglia da 0,5 CL, colore arancio carico con un cappello di schiuma molto abbondante e persistente. L’aroma è caratterizzata da note alcoliche e lieviti, al sapore è molto fresca con un corpo medio

500mL bottle purchased at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Bottled about 8 months ago. The aroma has a sweet, sherry-like oxidized character. Light husky malts, and some metallic. Mostly oxidation, though. Hazy honey-amber body with a medium, fairly strong, fizzy creamy white head present. Starts with a bit of a sweet sugary character. Light molasses and sherry in the middle. Finishes slightly metallic. Oxidized as all shit. Figured this would be somewhat fresh, seeing it was brand new to the Beer Shoppe, but it was not. Unfortunate this stuff can’t get here in a timely fashion.

Draft. From notes. Fruity and yeasty. Pretty standard hefe, nothing really out of the ordinary here.

On tap at the Rivermill Tavern, Eaton Socon. Golden orange and cloudy, a thin off-white head crowning the pint. Bubbelgum with a bit of banana bread. Taste is surprisingly sweet, and the alcohol is very present. It tastes far stronger than 5.4%. I’m not keen.
