Scarsa persistenza amarostica.

Orange hue and cloudy with a modest size bubbly head and lots of lacing. Weak aroma of hay or wheat. The fizziness is surprising. Taste is highly acidic but can’t be tied to a distinct citrus fruit while also having some hay or barnyard flavors. Like lemongrass but full and sweet with a sour finish.

Nov 2012 - cask. A lot of lager qualities about it. Some wheat and spice. Overall I wasn’t fussed about it. Poor in the context of other German wheat beers I’ve had.

Bottle @ home picked up at Supermarket Fort Collins. I was hoping to try this one in Ettal, but actually didn’t make it to Ettal my last trip and never saw this one in the supermarkets. To my great surprise, it showed up at Supermarket Liquor in Fort Collins on sale @ $1.29. Kind of makes me a nervous anytime I see a fire sale on German beer at a liquor store in Colorado, but what the hell. Pours a cloudy, actually quite dark orange appearance with a cream colored head. Spicy, bready yeasty, big clove, a bit minty aroma. Body is a bit thin. Fairly citrus forward, a bit spicy, thin bodied, wheat flavor. Bland, not very fun to drink, particularly old, butt fuck it, just looking to catch a buzz tonight. Cheers!

50cl bottle, 1.45€. Cloudy dark orange beer, big offwhite head. Light wheat & fruit nose. Aroma of light banana & fruits but missing the citrusy tones, more sugary (cane sugar) than others maybe a feel of caramel. Yeasty as expected probably has some starch too. Taste is moderately sweet and the hoppy balance is not so prominent. Finish is flat. Body is medium, watery to creamy texture. Carbonation amazingly soft for the style. Not aromatic or tasty as others, overall weak, but it’s smooth as silk and very easy to drink.
