341 ml bottle. 7%. L670313. BB 01/10/2014. From Lowenbrau. Merci David!
Hazy brown colour with a small light tan head. Very strong sweet malty aroma with dark hoppy bitterness. Like American DIPA. The flavour is much more tranquil. There’s hoppy bitterness, sweet maltiness and piney notes in the flavour. Drinkable. Quite dark though.

(Rating #5005)

October 27, 2012 - 8th Annual Volo Cask Days. Very hazy light amber with a smallish typical biege bubbly head. Smells VERY good - not sweet at all, acidic slightly overripe tangy tropical fruit, citra-like cattiness, some alcohol - but mostly just solidly and pungently floral. Taste is very restrained, even more floral, not near the pungent cattiness of the aroma, with a shy backbone of tropical fruit malt - definitely some alcohol, but overall very well-balanced with a high Q (quaffability) factor (8+). Average body, some astringency - very crisp and dry - mild carbonation, and a not quite long bitter finish - dry, not particularly palate-coating, just a pleasure to drink.

Glouglouburp (6104) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 3, 2013
In short: A commanding uber-hoppy fruity blond IPA. Excellent and sessionable hop fix.
How: Cask at brewpub.
The look: Clear dark blond body topped by a small white head.
In long: Nose is bursting with fresh citrusy and tropical fruits along with piney notes. Typical modern American IPA smell but cranked up to 11. Taste has a smooth bed of bready malt, very neutral, provides body but leaving all the floor empty for the hops to dance like nobody’s watching. Assertive fruity hops with bitter grapefruits, various citrus and tropical fruits and piney undertone. Overall rather dry. Bitterness level is pretty high but the overall very bright character of the beer is such that the beer remains very refreshing and very sessionnable. Named after the device used to throw t-shirts in the crowd during roman games at the coliseum.
