In short: A moderately funky golden ale with a strong white grapes character
How: Bottle 750ml at the brewpub. Called “Alter Novis no. 3"
The look: Cloudy golden blonde body topped by a long lasting small beige head
In long: Nose is stinky feet and tropical fruits (not particularly white grapes). I did not recognize the nose of the regular Alter Novis here, less woody and the brett took a funny turn toward stinky feet. Taste is more like Alter Novis but obviously with a strong white grapes presence as expected. Only moderately funky (a lot less wild than the regular Alter Novis), plenty of tart white grapes, some grapefruits. Lacks the dryness of the regular Alter Novis. This is a very good beer but I slightly prefer and cheaper regular Alter Novis. So here I am rating a very good beer and I still find something to complain about. I complain about everything. I’m simply the best at complaining. So if one day they make complaining an official Olympic sport you can be certain that I’ll complain about that too. And probably win.
