In short: A strange (VERY strange) funky fruity pale ale on nitro.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Clear light golden body topped by a large persistent white head
In long: Nose is bretty, leathery, horse blanket, grapefruit skin. Overall the aroma really hid the fact that the base beer is most likely an hoppy pale ale (I suspect Yakima) . Taste is… strange, to say the least. Hard to describe really. Funk, oranges, apricots juice filtered through a horse blanket, dirty socks, etc (you get the picture)… Mouthfeel was full and creamy like I would expect from a Cream ale. I usually like funky weird beer and I love Benelux but somehow this beer was too much on the sweaty stinky side of things for me. Not bad per say, just not up to the usual Benelux standard. But everybody make mistakes, take my parents for example.

(Rating #3939)

[on tap at brewpub] Interestingly sour aroma that is complex with strawberry horseblanket. Hazy yellow-orange with a lasting, white flannel blanket that clings to the sides of the glass. Sweet and sour base malt with some complex fruity notes that include pineapple, apples, pears, peach and others. Medium body, moderate carbonation, clean finish. Very impressive.

A golden ale with a thick lacing creamy with head. In aroma, a smooth Bretty Orval malt with light mineral notes, very nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice and smooth lightly sweet malt with light Brett notes, very nice. On tap at brewpub, Sept 3 2011.

Drank on tap (12 oz) at the brewpub, on September 5, 2011. Hazy pale amber, good head. Light hop aroma, with notes of yeast and barley. Taste of creamy and lively Yeasty, hints of hops, slightly bitter aftertaste. This is very far from boring, and this is a cream ale!
