Rastacouere (5421), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 25, 2007 A dark chestnut ale with a gentle haze. Healthy off-white head tops it despite the generally low effervescence. Immediately nutty upon hitting the nostrils and well contained at that. Limited roastiness leave more room for toasted malts. It is quite straightforward in maltiness, but compensates this apparent simplicity with a solid hop backing, citrusy, leafy and foresty, making it feel drier than initially and satisfyingly complete. MartinT (4497), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 3, 2008 My Bottom Line:
An amiable alliance of roasted chestnuts and caramel leans onto an earthy hop finish to provide a suave, balanced pint of Brown Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam shields the burgundy brown.
-The body is well built, lightly creamy, and conducive to high drinkability.
-The hop bitterness is also resinous at times.
-A undefined fruitiness seeps from the grain bill and chosen yeast.
On tap at the brewpub. tiggmtl (4200), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jul 3, 2007 Very fresh, strong hops in the nose - herbal, grassy and citrus in character, blended well with sweet and dark malts. Nicely balanced. Almost opaque brown body is topped by a decent cover of lasting tan head that leaves some light lacing. Assertive bitterness show cases both the hops and dark malts. Chocolaty supporting malt base. Very dry medium body is well attenuated with prickly, strong carbonation that awakens the taste buds. Sampled on tap at the brewpub in Fall 2006. CapFlu (3364), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Aug 23, 2008 (Draught) Sampled at the Brewpub. Pours a thin, white web of white foam abd flavour of heavy malt. Flavour is tart for a brown, high hop profile, but iteresting. Sammy (3287), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 24, 2007 Enjoyed at the brew pub, where the beers are served nicely just a bit cold and understated carbonation. This beer had lace, medium mouthfeel, was hoppy and malty. However root beerish sasaparilla flavour.
